Yesterday I had a brilliant day and here's hoping today will be just as good. I've got to sit down and plan weekend and next week so that I can shop in the morning and I've also got to try and work into the plan a meal out with son and daughter-in-law for their birthdays which have been this week.
So here's today's plan -
Thurs 19 January 2012
B-banana; Mexican Bake (HEA) - now finished the last batch of this and will make more cos this is an excellent filling breakfast for me
S-strawberries, kiwi - they cost me a fortune these strawberries but look soooo good so that's my treat for today!
L-Tuna & Egg Salad – cabbage, cucumber, tomato, red pepper, red onion, beetroot, 1 egg, tuna, 1 tblspns light mayo – 2 syns - after yesterday's chat I'm going to weigh and photograph this today
S-2 slices w/m bread, homemade humous, tomato - yesterday was the first time I didn't need this bread snack and we'll see what today brings
D-Vegetable Soup; Brazilian Chicken & Coconut, cauliflower, courgettes, green beans – 8 syns - found the recipe on Allrecipes and going to try it - if everyone eats it then I'll adjust the syns but planning for more rather than less at the momentMediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -
Well I bit the bullet and went to wi last night and as expected it was a gain - only 1lb rather than the 2.5lb I expected but that due to a well timed trip to the loo (sorry if tmi!!).
So today is the start of a green/red week rather than EE with todays menu looking like this:
Green
B: Mullerlight and banana, toast and spread (HEB + 2 syns)
L: Pasta in sauce, pear and appleStirfry with mixed veg, beansprouts, noodles and soy sauce, Mullerlight
S: 2 Alpen light bars (HEB) Curly Wurly (6 syns)
HEA Milk in coffeexxx Nikki xxx0 -
Well done Nikki for going to WI - you can do this and we're all here to support you cos we all know exactly what you're feeling and going through.Mediterranean Mum

Nikki - well done for going to wi, put the gain behind you now and focus on the week ahead, you can do it.
Well done to all the losers and hugs to those who need them.
Wi this morning and stayed the same which I was disappointed with as only lost a pound last week. Determined to see a loss next week, so going to try and write down everything I eat and post meals on here to stay on track.0 -
A few months ago would have agreed with you but when she explained it and has checked with her headoffice I kind of get where shes soming from
few examples.
you make a big 3litre pan of soup with stock, some free veg and some super free.
The stocks free
even if veg was all super free list.
unless you had 1litre of 3lires you made would not be your 1/3superfree.
imagine if you made 3lites and got 10-12bowls out of 3litres that would not truly give you the 1.superfree.
Especially if you feeding the whole family.
same with spag bol which do make for everyone
use lean mince in frylite-free
passata superfree
and as much superfree veg as can sneak in usually one onion, 1 chilli, 1 onion my family fussy bunch.
combine with pasta-free
but would need 3rd of that plate with salad or veg despite having lots of super free despite having lots of super free in the spag bol as you could use 500g standard size pack mince, maybe 100g chopped veg making it super free so feed family of 4 150g portions but you would need least 200g of spag bol which is a 1/3 of 600g.
If in doubt I add more veg and salad and have fruit for afters.
Great posts guys... really interesting..
But thats the reason i don't do EE much.. i'm not a big veg fan so dont get anywhere near the 1/3rd plate of SF. Thanks for explaining..Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Going to do a green day today, can you have a quick look at my plan and see if it looks ok?
B 2 x wheatabix with skimmed milk HEB and HEA
L Beans on toast 2nd HEB 2 slices whole meal hovis
T acti fry chips, egg and mushy peas, syns in oil
Snacks will be fruit and a muller light
Might have a 2 finger kit Kate for syns
Been I'll and not able to eat big meals and not feeling hungry- strange for me
Thanks0 -
Well done Nikki. Good luck with the red/green plan :-) I do that plan as well. Today I am red lol. Sometimes us ladies hold a bit of water retention, especially at certain times of the month, that could also be why you've had a slight gain :-)
Enjoy your day everyone :-)

just wanted to say, with all the talk of super frees and them being one third of your plate, i do it a wee bit different, but i dont think its effected my losses so far,
i do one third of MY DAY super free, eating lots of fruit between 9am and 5pm, but dont always have one third of my plate as superfree at my main evening meal.
usually my main meal is totally free, apart from maybe brown sauce, or gravy, but its hardly ever 1/3 superfree,

Just had fat free natural yogurt with 1 weetabix sprinkled on which felt really satisfying and I know I still have possibility of another weetabix later if I need it. Bought some melon to snack on this morning and also a bag of clementines. I have a chicken salad for lunch with a pack of cherry tons. Don't know what we are having for dinner yet.0
