  • Now I remember Gailey - I can't get any of these bars here but maybe I'll buy a couple of what I can get and someone could check the values for me and see if they match the free ones.

Weetabix is over 5 quid a box here! so won't be buying that.

I don't think I can get ryvita either - anyone know about WASA - I can get those

Now I am confused which is not really hard for me!

The talk about 1/3 superfree is mixing me up.
eg -- my hm soup = a full pack of soup veg + extra leeks, carrots, celery, peppers and so far that is all SF.
Then I would add up to 3 tins of various beans, barley and lentils = SS
So to me my soup matches the 1/3 SF rule if not more! Does this not count as enough SF for my lunch (and often before dinner too)
This soup always makes my day green or ee

Sometimes I totally leave out the beans and pulses which allows me to make the day red or green depending on what I want for dinner!
    Is this wrong??

The same applies to spag bol.

Came back to SW and class last Mon, been trying to do it in my own and lost 1/2 a stone but found it hard to get my head around extra easy.

Only have 10 lbs to lose, but was gutted when I only lost .5 lb this week.

Know I got my HEB wrong, wrong cereal and bread!

Lost 2 stone approx 8 years ago doing mostly green days, had cereal for breakfast, something with bread for lunch and veggie or quorn based tea.

    Missing having 2 heb's

Do people on here still do green and red? Can I mix it and have green days and then do ee on a weekend so I can have my roast and pots?

Also does it really help to drink lots of water? And how much is lots?

    Thanks

Yes you can mix red, green and EE - plenty on here do!

You can syn your bread if you want on an EE day, if your HEB was your cereal...

And drink plenty - as much as you can...

    What an interesting conversation.

I'm in the position of being able to say 'It worked for me.' as I'm a target member. I have always done EE and have to say I am a bit guilty of some 'tweaking' of the plan.:o I took about 10 months to lose 3.5 stone so averaged just over a 1lb a week although that did include some flexi holidays. I did very little exercise. If I'd done it more 'full on' maybe I'd have lost more quickly.

I had just one HEA and HEB a day. HEXs are quite high syn so if you're having more (unless breast feeding) on EE then that's extra syns. For my HEA I always had milk which I only measured at the very start. Once I realised that a HEA was enough for a day's drinks (probably too much) then I stopped measuring. I know I had extra on the 1 or 2 days a week I had cereal but I reckoned it balanced out. For my HEB I had bread most days and occasional cereal. mm, you can have tinned fruit (but why would you when you have fresh in abundance?) or soup (but you probably can't get the brand and why would you again?) or 1tbsp of extra virgin for a HEB which you might enjoy. Whether I had fruit with my cereal or something extra with my baked beans at breakfast depended on what I was eating the rest of the day.

That brings me on to SFs. Again I'd balance them through the day and I always try to have loads at dinner. When I have a stir-fry I reckon I always have 60%+ veg with my noodles and (minimal) meat and a completely free sauce. If I am conscious of being a bit low on SFs I'll just have a couple of satsumas or a banana (not too often for those). Free food I'm careful with as I know I don't want it to 'dilute' the SFs. So if I have a snack of cottage cheese, I slice an apple into it. If I fancy a JP, I'll have some pickled beetroot with it etc. etc.

I've always averaged my syns, working from a weekly bank of 105. I keep the vast majority for the weekend and have lots of virtually syn free days in the week.

I really can't understand the soup argument. I always make fairly chunky soups but that shouldn't matter as veg can be mashed (unlike fruit) and still be counted as SF. I think maybe the reason you lose better with SFs as well as soups and bolognese is that you're doing more like the Success Express plan than EE.

HTH. I'm only trying to add to the debate from my experience, certaily not to preach.:)

Snap we twins need to lose 10lb to target , lost 1/2lb last week and on ee.

You can mix it up but has to be one whole day green, then ee you cant change what plan you on half way through a day.

I like to have 2 healthy extras too but because im feeding my baby allowed more than 1 on ee.

extra water always good for skin and guess fills you up avoid snacking the sw book reccomens 7glasses a day.

Annie 6 what plan you following? As I count mince as free and not a healthy extra.
    I only ever done ee.

Im not a consultant just repeating what consultant said tuesday as she argued the soup despite being mostly super free veg wouldent be youir 1/3 you need extra 1/3 with the soup so maybe side salad?
She said she quyeeried with headoffice and had heated debate with her evening group as I used to think think soupd would count as sf.

I welcome others opinions like I say been doing sw since june but last few months losses come to a standstill.
All I ever done is extra easy. started sucess express today as fed up wanted a kickstart. But even harder as 2/3 superfree but does allowed extra healthy option.

I mix my days. I am from the old school and like many others EE seemed to make it too easy to overeat and not have sf veg etc. I am getting my head around EE but as OH is not too fond of veg in spag I would usually make it a green day and count mince as a heb. I only put oinion, and sometimes mushroom, and peppers in spag bol and I like extra cheese on that day too!

OH does not like - carrots, green beans, courgettes and most other sf veg. He tolerates cauliflower broc etc!!
