Morning all, well done to all the losers, and to those struggling don't give up as it does work. It can take time for our bodies to adjust to the plan and people lose weight at different rates and so don't compare your losses to others.

Went to zumba class for the first time since before Christmas and it was hard work. Need to stop aching by tomorrow night when I go to yoga or I will struggle.

MM - I like the sound of breakfast muffins, how do you make them?
  • morning peeps

Am starting to get really disheartened with this!!

So after 6 weeks I've lost 6lbs - any slower and I'd be at a complete standstill.

Have wi tonight and a sneaky peak is showing a 2.5lb gain - am gutted cos I have stuck to it 100% this week!!

Seriously thinking about giving it up.

Nikki, don't give up, it may only be a pound a week but it's a pound a week OFF.. i know when i give up i start to put on weight again so easily!! Are you doing exercise? are you eating enough/enough SF? Do you have oodles to lose? all of these things affect the rate at which we lose weight...

Apologies if you have already explained all this but i've not had the internet for a while..

S - crisps (4) satsumas, milk in tea (HEa) ryvitas (HEb)

I also gave myself the aim to drink 3 glasses of NAS squash today - seriously dehydrated cos i only drink diet coke! 1/3 done so far...:T

Have a good day all x
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

  • I thought s/w assigned you to a group - i know someone on here last year was thinking about it - she wanted to run a work group - someone told her it's not that simple......

Mind you a group aimed at students might be good - but wouldn't it have to be open to everyone? And the student life is not relevant to most s/wers!

half of my old group acted like students :rotfl: they insisted that if they didn't have a "weekly blowout" they wouldn't loose, so they all went home from SW via the chippy and kebab shop and got drunk fri/sat and ate takeaway. we ended up having a chat one night about "SW hangover days" and our SW friendly hangover meals.

(best hangover meal ever - cheesy bacon beans on toast, cut up bacon into little strips, fry in fry light, add whole can of beans to the same pan, add whatever cheese you are having as HEA (i used one or 2 cheese triangles and had the rest on ryvita later on), pepper (not salt - bacon is too salty already), then mix together in the pan and when the cheese is all melted in, serve it on HEB wholemeal toast. (if you only use half your A and B choice you can do cheese on toast later on too))

    Thanks for the encouragement everyone.

I'm around 10 stone at the moment and want to lose one and a half stone so not a massive amount - maybe that's why it's slower than I expected!

Have been doing EE but to be honest I don't think it's the best plan for me - I struggle most days with the superfree so am going to try a week on red and green, it'll take a bit more being organised but hopefully will show a result.

Am going to bite the bullet and go to wi tonight even though I know it's going to show a gain!

    hello lovelies!!!

I am still waiting to get started - due to my illness i still cannot eat properly :( bah!

Anyhoooo, gonna make up a nice big batch of dal and rice to keep me and OH going for a couple of days ;)

i was told by OH (not sure if he was just trying to flatter me) that my tarka dal is better than his mums... (hmmm) so, i thought i would share my recipe! Its dead dead simple and its simply divine! Serve it with plain basmati rice and it will certainly warm your cockles and make you feel comfy!!

    You will need

    For the dal
    red split lentils
moong dal (these are yellow lentils i think not 100% sure as i only buy these ones from indian grocery)
Tumeric powder - just a pinch - depending on how big your portion is

Now, i dont weigh these - i use a measuring jug. I put up to the 200ml mark of a mixture of both lentils - that makes enough for me and OH for 2 meals but it depends on how 'thick' you like it - we have ours quite loose, sort of soupy.

Wash the lentils until the water runs clear and put in a pan and cover with 2x as much water. Add some salt. Bring to the boil and skim off any froth from the top. Once boiling add 1/4 teaspoon of tumeric powder. Let the lentils cook.

    for the Tarka
    Frylight
    onions (1 per 2 serving)
garlic (4 cloves, finely chopped per 2 serving)
ginger (1 inch, peeled and finely chopped per 2 serving)
thin green chilli (1 per 2 servings) sliced into 2
cumin seeds (1 big tsp for 2 servings)
    Garam Masala

The tarka is simple, fry your onion in frylight, then salt your onions. When it starts to soften add your garlic and ginger, after 2 minutes, re spray your pan with loads of frylight and add the chilli (sliced lengthways) and cumin seeds. Lower the heat and slowly fry the tarka until the onions go slightly brown. Add a big tsp of Garam Masala

Once your lentils are cooked and to the consistency you prefer, stir them vigorously to slightly break them up. Then add your tarka and stir. Serve with basmati rice :)

OH likes chapatis with his but i have no idea how many syns there are in my home made ones!!
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

    new beginnings...... new successes..

Do you weigh at home or go to a class?

If you go to a class CHUCK AWAY THE SCALES

I got my DH to hide the scales as i got into the habit weighing myself everyday - but it is not a true reflection!

Also if you use group scales they are more accurate than at home scales

If you WI at home - CHUCK AWAY THE SCALES and go to boots once a week and WI for 50p

    IT WILL HELP

    DO NOT GIVE UP!

1lb a week is a FANTASTIC loss, most people will be jealous of you!

    Always done extra easy

but gained few lb over xmas and now have 10lb to lose to hit target!

lost 1/2lb this week. Think because cut back a little and done more exercise.

but need to get strict and start shifting the lb again/

Has anyone tried and had any luck with sucess express plan?Think its old plan as not on their website, consultant mentione dit so got leaflet and googled it and came accross a secret plan called fastfoward as well who knew sw had so many plans.

researched sucess express and think can get my head around it means more superfree but 2hexes but higher syn values but dont need fruit with my weetabox think it might work for me as bored of ee.
never tried red /green. cant get my head around it and seems too much measuring and weighing.

Nikki I'm joining everyone else here and saying don't give up. You are losing slowly and steadily which is exactly how it should be done. I think you said you have a stone and a half to lose - if the 6lb is part of that then at 1lb a week you only have another 15 weeks until you reach target!

Drink water - tons of it! It really helps and don't weigh yourself at home - how do you know if your scales are the same as the ones at the club.

Good luck honey and keep us posted. Remember we're all in this together - through the good and the bad so keep going.

Like lots of things I do I make them up as I go along and with whatever ingredients I have in the house but basically I would fry up lots of finely chopped onions, courgettes, mushrooms and grated carrots in frylight. Add a couple of chopped up tomatoes and season well with salt, black pepper and oregano. Keep cooking until it breaks down and is like a thick sauce. Take off the heat and cool slightly. Add 4 well-beaten eggs and pour into muffin tins sprayed with frylight. Top each one with some grated cheese and bake in the oven until set.

Shala_moo I used to be totally addicted to diet coke and was determined to wean myself off it - I started watering it down until I got to the point that it was more water than coke and then I was able to stop it completely. It didn't take me that long and now I only drink water. Sometimes I feel like something fizzy and then I pour myself a glass of water and top it up with some diet coke or diet lemonade and it really does the trick.

hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j

The stone and a half is what I still have left to lose :(

I drink sugar free squash, at least 3-4 litres a day so think I'm ok there.

I know that my scales weigh exactly the same as the club ones - same result every week on them so I know it's gonna be a gain tonight but am gonna take it on the chin and persevere!!
