A small plastic stools of the kind children use to stand at a wash basin is ideal.

I'm sure no pun was intended but had to laugh :rotfl:

Haha :rotfl:. I missed that, thank you :)
  • Anyone know how many syns there are in a tin of coconut liquid? The one I use is 66 calories per 100ml but I don't have one in the house to give the full breakdown.

Thank you. I am taking things like sliced peppers, carrot and mangetout to work and could do with a dip. I am not sure if I have the dried mint as I tend to use mint when its growing the garden. Might try putting something else in though as I have lots of herbs and spices.

Does anyone have a recipe for a dip - I have made the vegetable pakoras from the SW website and they are gorgeous but v hot and I could do with a cooling dip to help them.
If I wasn't doing SW I would go for onion & garlic dip or sour cream & chive dip... so something along these lines but syn free would be fab! lol

Easiest dip I know is 2tbsps of 0% yogurt, 1 tbsp of mint sauce (ready made) and a little sweetener to taste. It's lovely and goes well with veg sticks or pakoras or (my favourite) tandoori or tikka chicken pieces.

Made a huge SC full of bolognese sauce yesterday for the freezer, packed full of SFs. Had a small portion for my lunch with some LO potatoes sliced into it. real comfort food, like a tomatoey version of mince and tatties.

ProductExtra EasyOriginalGreenCoconut, milk, canned, light/reduced fat, 1 level tbsp ½½½
Coconut, milk, canned, standard, 1 level tbsp 1½1½1½
Coconut, milk, fresh, 4 level tbsp ½½½

I don't use it myself but that would seem a lot of syns if you're using the whole can. Although, if the recipe was shared perhaps it's not too bad?
  • I use it in Spice Pumpkin Soup and use a whole tin but the pot serves about 10 at least.

easy dips are basically fat free yoghurt/fromage frais and add whatever you want to add to them. it also works in place of mayo if you want to make potato salad and in other sauces. you can make syn free peppercorn sauce by frying a bit of stock, garlic, onion/shallot, lots of pepper and then mixing in fromage frais. make sure it's taken off the heat and not boiling hot otherwise it curdles and goes all weird.

    Help please;

I am not starting my first class until Tuesday, so missing all the basic advice.

I would like the make lentil soup for later on today. I use onions, garlic, carrots, swede, tinned tomatoes, tomato puree and red dried lentils plus marigold stock granules. I don't know how to count the lentils or the stock. Can anyone tell me please?

    Thanks

I think lentils & stock are free on Extra Easy or Green plan.

all stock is superfree now, even the posh "jelly" stock pots.

115g lentils are also a red HEB.
  • i've just bought some size 14 cords from Fatface - 2/3rds off (£48 down to £15) - they were bought to give me an incentive to get the last 2 stone off.

    THEY FIT ME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

    I think I better aim for a size 12!

Menu for today started well but then went awry as been out for pub lunch :o Was lovely to go out and really enjoyed it despite the syns!

I am making a butternut squash and red pepper soup for tea - hopefully it will last me a few lunches this week as well. Will be better than the new covent garden soups that I was having that were lots of syns - well not too many but enough to mean my syns would go over for the day.

Before I settle on the sofa with my kindle, must meal plan....
