  • You need to be eating lots more! Definitely eat breakfast, even if you just grab a couple of pieces of fruit. For lunch you need to be eating a proper meal of some kind.

I don't know how much weight you have to lose but your body needs to have a balanced diet and enough food to fuel it. If you starve it, it will hang on to what it's got and you'll not lose. The beauty of SW is that you can have lots of food - vegetables, protein and carbs - you just need to make the right choices.

    Thanks for the reply.

i have about 6 and a half stone to lose! Although would like to do 3 and a half before my wedding in July.

thats more than i eat most days - BUT my weight loss is really slow. 1/2 - 1lb a week usually.
lots of people say to eat more.

try to have some more protein at lunchtime - and even just a banana in the mornings or use your heb Hifi bar.

    hth

i am sitting here thinking what can i eat?
don't really need anything but i always feel hngriest this time of night.
might make a cup of tea :)

    thanks for the reply.

I think i will have to plan my days a lot better and make sure i always have something to hand as i have low blood sugar and have not felt great today and im sure its due to not eating enough.

Just trying to work out what i can have now!

thanks so much everyone for the great welcome and support.
  • Thanks ammonite - I know I can do it but I get so depressed about my weight and when I don't see the scales moving I think "what's the point". Anyway I'm back on track today and I'm going to try and get on the "dreadmill" later and see if I can do at least 20 minutes every day. I've also got a possible zumba class tonight but it's late and it depends how I feel at the end of the day.

Here's my plan for today -

    Wed 11 January 2012
B-large tuna and egg salad – cabbage, cucumber, tomato, sp onions, pickled cucumber, beetroot, ½avocado, 1 tblspn light mayo – 7 syns
    L-Luxury Fish Pie (Nov/Dec11 pg 69)
S-2 slices w/m bread toasted with 1 tblspn humous, tomato slices - 21/2 syns
D-Lentil & Pumpkin soup; Mexican Bake

Chin up MM you are doing so well (plus we all envy you living somewhere HOT!) You know you can make virtually free humous so you can have loads more than 1 tablespoon if you wish. The recipe might be on the recipe thread but it's basically a drained tin of chickpeas (hang onto the liquid in case needed), a few peeled cloves of garlic, some dollops of plain yoghurt, a little seasoning, a little chilli if you wish, and a measured amount of sesame oil to give it an authentic flavour. Whizz it all up in the blender. The amount of sesame oil can be waaaaay less than a conventional recipe, I find just a teaspoon to a tin of chickpeas gives it the flavour you expect and is what, 2 syns for the whole caboodle!?!!?

best wishes all. Stressed today at work (one colleague had ?stroke last week due to the work stress, now we are all scared, it's horrible at the mo) so on top of my lunch from home I had a plate of canteen chips. Boy they were good. But had a giant bowl of all free/superfree raw salady stuff when I came home, topped off with home-made free ketchup mixed with plain yog as a dressing.:D
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
  • Day 3

    B- Dorset porrige (HB)
L - 1/2 Bathchelors savoury rice, salad (huge) and chicken
    T - Spag bolog
Snack - Muller light yog, 2 x Ferraro rocher (5 syns)

Didnt have all my skimmed milk so having a nice hot milk before bed!
Kondo'ed 76 items from wardrobe, 4 carrier bags of books

    Hi guys!

Just bobbing in to say that the weekend really threw me off, and we have had non SW meals since then :o

I am however still trying, and sticking to low syn snacks and drinks - tho admittedly I've given up counting. I've also been doing a good hour of walking each day too - proper muddy, hilly, over styles, running away from cows kinda walking lol :p

I did WI tonight - and despite all my badness, my sins and my syns.. I lost 5lb! :D

Kinda makes me wonder what I could have lost if I had been good ...... Wierdly I also feel guilty for loosing when I was so naughty - but then again I guess anything is an improvement on a diet of crisps, bread, peanut butter, beer, full fat fizzy and zero excercise!!!:o

    I celebrated with a pizza - sssshhh!

    :o
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I need help please, really weird question have i eaten enough, if not what should i eat?????

    Today i have had

Breakfast - nothing as was out and was in a rush
Lunch - Raspberries, grapes, pear and hifi bar (HEB)
Dinner - Pasta bake - Ex-lean mince, tomatoes, chilli, onions, pepper, carrott, pasta, Cheese (6syns)
Pudding - Fruit salad - mango, prommegranate (cant Spell), apple, melon.
    HEA - milk for tea.

Thanks in advance, you guys are great and i love reading all your posts.

biscuitmad, the great thing about SW is you can eat loads and loads as long as you eat the right things!! What you've done today is OK as a one-off but generally, what you had for lunch would make an OK portable breakfast if you're in a rush and then you need a proper lunch. I really believe that planning is the answer to keeping on track so if you're likely to be in a rush, all the more reason to have 'grab & go' type food planned and sort your lunch out the night before if necessary. Good luck, I'm sure you could lose loads by your wedding!

mm, I just wanted to say that not everyone loses weight at the same rate. I found that whatever you do catches up eventually. So if you've been 'good' and not lost much then eventually you will have a good loss. Sadly I found the converse is also true:( although you can try to alleviate that with lots of good days or the dreadmill!:rotfl:

I've managed a syn free day today:jmuch needed as I think it's the first day since Christmas I've not succumbed to cheese or chocolate in the evening.

Thanks so much for that BR - I'd completely forgotten about homemade humous and am going to make some today - I have a tin of chickpeas in the cupboard and a FF yoghurt to use up. I will use olive oil rather than sesame though as I actually think it's healthier - you've just helped me cut out 3 syns from my plan today!

Thanks Maman - I know you're right of course but it's disheartening all the same. Anyway I'm glad to say that I didn't let it affect me (apart from the bad night 2 nights ago) and I've been keeping to plan - planning every day and every meal the night before and keeping with it.

Red for me today (although I am concerned most of my meals are made up HE's and syns most days rather than free food :/ - could a wiser member than me have a look and see what they think? Usually my evening meal has syns in, although not tonight ]

B - Nimble white x 1, light spread (1 syn), tsp jam (0.5 syn), semi-skimmed for tea through the day (HEA)

L - Home made mushroom soup (3 syns - made it b4 started SW), nimble white x 1, "Omlette cupcake", 2 x mini gingerbread men (2 syns), Hartleys Jelly (0.5 syns), babybel light (HEA)

D - Syn free Moussaka. Onken Yoghurt (free)

7 syns in total so will probably have some chocolate....always like to get the full 15 syns at the start then I can reduce if I hit a plateau (thats my excuse anyway).

Thanks for the msgs about my loss yesterday, I was v pleased with the 4lb loss, just hoped for better given all the exercise and that it was the first week. Will be overjoyed with 2lb loss a week (or any loss in fact!) in the future.
