  • OK Piglet I hear ya! I've just been on the "dreadmill" for 15 minutes at a pace of 5km/hr - OMG how out of condition am I!!! I was out of breath and my heart was racing.

OK so not much but a start - I'm going to try and do another 15 minutes later on and see if I can slowly build it up that way.

So now just done another 20 minutes - at 4.5km/hr. My sister called and as I knew I was in for a long chat I thought rather than sit on my backside and chat I'd get on the machine. Had to slow it down a bit otherwise she would have had a lot of heavy breathing and no chat!

I could get used to doing this in short bursts - do you think it has the same benefit if I do it that way?

hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j
  • Thanks Mediterranean Mum, I got the high protein impression from some of the recipes which I thought had a lot of meat in - 800g of beef in one recipe to serve 4 people which is much more than I would have used. I really can't afford to go to a class at the mo but I might try and get my friend to buy a book for me. I'm doing extra easy.
:D Skint but happy with my lovely family :D

    Meal plan for today -EE

B - Magic rice with cherries
    !

I'm a rejoin for SW, and would love to join you all. The successes and support is great here. I did LC for a while and lost 3 stone, but managed to put is all back on as I was getting really bad cramps in my legs so stopped. I am having a problem eating carbs again - my head tells me they are bad!

Nessie - any chance of that magic rice recipe please? I'm sure I *know* about it, but can't think for the life of me how to do it. TIA

I rejoined last week, WI tonight. I'm not expecting too big a loss as I was out for a curry on Saturday. the rest of the week has been fine though.
I'll let you know how I get on (if anyone is interested, lol)

LOVE those fresh spring rolls evil squid. How do you count the wrappers? Can we have them as an HEB?

I've just been counting them as free and eating them hasn't affected me yet. all they are is rice so they should be free on G/EE or very low syn anyway. I've looked at syns online and cant find any mention of them as a branded or just a basic product so free they shall stay :rotfl:
  • Thank you so much for your replies to my question. We are off to the local bookshop to look for a microwave cookbook, and to poundland for some pots to cook said meals in!!!!!
:happyhear Not everyones cup of tea, but just right for me!! :coffee:

That would be a recipe for a red day then. I personally don't do red or green but do extra easy as I just find it easier to be able to eat both.

Have a look at the website as there are a couple of sample weekly plans there and lots of recipes. There is also a recipe link on this site - if you go to the first posting on the thread there's a link.

Well done to the losers, some great losses:T happy clapping..

PAH - i have home made bread and i've always used the 56g wholemeal roll being a HEB as the basis of the bread i eat. so i weigh out 56g of bread :( it's not a lot.. has the 56g gone up now though?

Med mum - well done for even starting.. it's not something i've managed to do at all.. walked to the post office earlier and it near d*mn killed me!:rotfl:

    Menu for today - green

    B - apple, yogurt, weetabix (2)
    L - spaghetti hoops
T - spanish frittata and chips maybe and salad - HEB and HEA
S - Ryvita crunch HEb, french fries (4) flora (2)satsumas

Yesterday was treat day in our household, due to it being weigh in day, and we managed to eat a couple of xmas trays of Chocolate fingers. I didn't even count them but i'm hoping they don't impact my weigh in next week!!
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

Morning all. Feeling good for my first week properly back on plan over Christmas! Have resolved to make more new food this year, try new recipes instead of sticking to same old same old. Weigh in tonight, definitely feel as though ive lost a little this week. Quietly hoping to lose the three I put on :)

Had porridge, skim milk and a banana for breakfast, going to make sw falafel for lunch. Then will do a fitness ball workout. Have a good one everyone!

Hello - can you share the receipe for the falafel - I have been wanting to make a sw version for weeks because there is a falafel wrap in m&$ that I like but its lot of syns :(

i would say yes, it will...at the start i was only fit to walk 15 / 20 mins at a time, so i would have to do that a few times a day, starting at once a day, built up til 3 or 4...then gradually just going for longer,

everyones different i suppose, but it worked for me and my mum starting like that (shes lost 4.5stones at SW also, going by the "chart" she would have around 5 more to loose, but shes not gonna go that low, she looks fab, and i think 2 or 2.5 more would be just fine for her) i really hope it works for you too ;)

    Magic rice is very simple

I use leftover cooked plain rice from night before - mix with yoghurt/fat free fromage frais etc. and frozen fruit (cherries my fav) and leave overnight in the fridge

I also do the same with couscous but normally cook the couscous specially - pour out portion dried couscous - pour over boiling water - leave for bout 5 mins - then mix with yog & fruit & leave overnight in the fridge!
