  • I agree with TIE, some of Mrs M's posts are on this thread - just look at how much she was eating each day and look how good it all was for her! And she wasn't in a group but "going it alone" overseas. She really is an inspiration. I'll see if I can linke to a couple of Mrs M's posts for the newbies to see how much catching up they have to do, amount-wise!

Hello all :-) I used to be a regular on here many moons ago but have been on and off the SW wagon for a while. Looking for a bit of advice, I am hoping to re-join a group for motivation but there's a bit of a slimming spanner in the works - I am 12 weeks pregnant with twins! Now, I know SW is midwife approved but has anyone followed SW whilst they were pregnant? I'm at the higher end of a healthy BMI and don't want to eat for 3 lol just have a steady, healthy weight gain.

If I remember correctly, you only get your extra HEA & HEB once bubs have arrived. And will I need to get my midwife to give me the green light to re-join?

Been very ill with all day sickness and can't stomach meat anymore so looks like ill be green-daying it!

Thanks very much and looking to read through the thread for recipe inspiration x

and I've gonefrom page 1 to page 16 and that's her only post, I hadn't realised Mrs M had "slowed down" on here so much, I think it was her packing etc wasn't it? Anyway, if anyone else can find any more useful posts feel free. Consultant31 hasn't been around for ages either, and it was her who always started the new threads for us, I hope she is ok.

    Hello :j

    Room for a big un?

Probably a familiar story but the weight has been creeping up on me for the last couple of years and I have decided that enough is enough! So I have joined a couple of dance classes and I will be going to SW as of Monday :D

I am so looking forward to trying the delicious recipes and getting myself fit, healthy and trimmer!

first official WI for me tomorrow. It looked promising this morning but who knows, trying not to get my hopes up too much. done LOADS of exercise this week so hopefully that will help.

    WELL DONE LOSERS!
  • My after-class treat used to be a tandoori mixed grill from the Indian restaurant - I never ate the naan and always ate the salad, and the meat would also do for work the next day so I don't think it was too sinful and it was a lovely treat!

When I went to a slimming club years ago we always used to go out for a meal afterwards to celebrate (or drown our sorrows) - it was never the bad stuff but just made us feel that we could have a once a week real treat.

Had a bloody awful night with tummy probs, been ok all day but feeling bloated again and think I'm in for another rough night :(, hate IBS .

Wish I could stick a pin in myself as feel like I'm gonna explode :(

OMG TIE I know that feeling so well. I have to say though that I've much less of it since I've really started on the program so I'm obviously doing something right for my health even if it's not showing on the scales although I completely overdid it yesterday and I paid for it last night - up half the night.

Congratulations yoemma and good luck with the pregnancy. I would have thought that SW is a perfect way to eat during a pregnancy - all that good fruit and vegetables and protein. I would just go easy on the carbs though - in moderation!

  • I had a really bad day yesterday. Tuesdays are a nightmare for me as I leave the house at 6am for a breakfast meeting at 7am. I try to eat with SW in mind - two slices of w/m bread and cut up vegetables but somehow it's just not enough for me and having the bread at that time makes me hungry later. There are eggs available too but when I've eaten them they've made me really ill for the rest of the day (I have IBS). Unfortunately it's a buffet breakfast and the rest of the offerings are mainly cheeses which I can't eat but actually don't like anyway. Sometimes they offer fruit but it's usually sweet buns instead!

So I ended up eating lunch (left over from the previous evening's dinner) at about 11am and that didn't satisfy me either and then I had this real depression in the afternoon (when I was posting on here about not succeeding) and it just set me back for the rest of the day. I just couldn't find enough to eat or to satisfy me. I ended up eating almost a full bag of pistachios that my DH had bought for himself (!), then had no dinner to punish myself and ended up having a couple of handfuls of choc chips and a ton of crackers with humous right before I went to bed - result was that I had a total IBS attack and was up half the night!!

OK so today is another day and let's hope I can pull myself together...

  • Well had my first WI last night and I lost 1 1/2lbs but when I went through my food diary, consultant hoping to find ways I could change - use more free foods - but instead got ticked off as I don' eat enough. Gained the weight through not eating mountains of food, but been eating the wrong things for years mainly sandwiches say 8 a day ( that was 8 slices of bread doubled over and stuffed of course) and so replaced my sandwiches with lots of healthy food but not enough it seems and was told unless I can eat more am more likely to say same or even gain. I understand body in starvation mode so hopefully will do better this week, although hard with health I get days when I do not eat anything at all ( last Thursday) so of course body thinks its being starved yet I don't deliberately not eat I am just not hungry or thought of food makes me feel ugg.

I do drink on days I don't eat - water and tea, does any thing if I chance some of my tea to soup if that will help, will be most likely home made chicken soup - lots of veg but no pulses and then will eat chicken next day, was thinking of making up a big pan and freezing cup size portions I can just heat up quickly in microwave ( can that be done or should I do it on hob, never frozen chicken soup before?).

Also does any know of a HM bread recipe that is similar to WW bread as not had any bread at all now for a week and I miss it but as I only have HM bread in the house not sure how to work out how many sins? Thanks

  • Hello everyone, I joined SW yesterday at my local group (not for the first time, but the first time recently :) ) and would love some ideas and support please!

Yesterday went well, apart from when my oh made me a drink, and I drunk two glasses full before remembering! Does anyone know the syns in sodastream please?!

Hope everyone is well, and has a good day :)
