Wow some great menus and tips today. Thank you everyone :)

I had my first day back at work today and ignored all the choccies. The staffroom table was groaning with jars, tins and boxes. No wonder I have put on weight!

    Today I had:

    B; porridge with summer fruits
2 snacks = 1 apple and later a handful of grapes
L: 2 pieces baked cod in thin coating of breadcrums, peas and a side salad (lettuce, cucumber, tomato) and a handful of grapes
D: small baked potato, 2 slices of ham with homemade coleslaw (cabbage, carrot, onion and 1 teaspoon very low fat mayo).

This seems a lot. Please can someone tell me if I am eating too much? Now full and not tempted to snack.
  • Too much??? If that's too much just look at what I've had today -

B-banana; frittata – 2 eggs, onion, red pepper, tomato, mushrooms, fresh herbs, 45g mozzarella (HEA)
    S-orange
L-tuna salad – cabbage, tuna, sp onions, red pepper, tomato, cucumber, beetroot, pickled cucumbers, seasoning, 2 tblspns light mayo – 4 syns
    S-persimmon, banana
    D-roasted cauliflower soup; Mushroom Lasagne (Nov/Dec11 pg 74) - 3½ syns

Prudent, looks to me like you're doing just fine.

A long day at school today but I haven't done too badly....
    Breakfast - cereal bar
    Snack - satsuma
Lunch - leftover mexican potato bake, grapes
Tea - 2 quorn fillets, jacket spud, cheese, cucumber, beetroot, 1 tsp marg on spud, 2 tbsp bbq sauce on fillets

The only syns are the marg and the bbq sauce - hopefully less than 10?
  • I'm sure someone said Mix 2 Match is not promoted now as it's much like EE but easier, kind of.

Since everyone is putting down what they ate today (I don't usually bother) and I havent overdone the syns, and to convince people that it's almost impossible to eat too much on the SW system, here's what I've had:
B: huge bowl - quarter of a melon, a kiwi, defrosted raspberries, covered in Mullerlight cherry yog
L: pork spare rib with all fat cut off, cooked with lots of onions and stock, boiled potatoes in skins, ratatouille, mushrooms, stuffing (this was tasty; good job as it is the same Tues and Wed)
S: wholemeal pitta stuffed with leftover ratatouille and 2 slices fat free smoked bacon.
Snacks: apple, banana, handful of cherry tomatoes, 2 mandarins.

HEA is always skimmed milk in countless cups of real coffee during the day
    HEB co-op wholemeal pitta
    SYNS: dessertspoon stuffing, crunchie.

(lunch and tea the 3rd superfree is easily covered by the home made ratatouille - lots of onions, garlic, aubergine, peppers (yellow and orange) and courgette, all cut in big chunks and slow cooked in microwave in tinned chopped tomatoes with lots of herbs and pepper)
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Does anyone know if couscous in a pot (ready made up) is free food or is it only the packet one?
