Feeling a bit rubbish today, a nasty cold has sneaked up on me but hopefully that won't distract me from my eating plans.
I didn't get any negative comments about yesterdays meal plan so I'm assuming that was acceptable as an EE day, I think I've got to grips with EE now but it's been quite difficult when your 'Old School' Like me!

    Anyways so far today:

Been drinking loads to flush through the cold and to combat the sore throat!
Brekkie: Apple, satsuma, banana and FF Yoghurt
(Planned)Lunch: HM Butternut Squash soup followed by some fresh cherries
(planned) Dinner: Chicken, Sprouts, Mushy Peas or may have the chicken with salad depending on how I feel
    Snacks: Fruit
    HEA: Milk in drinks
    Syns: as yet undecided
    HEB: ditto

    Hi all

I'm new to this thread but would love to join if you will have me as I need to lose lots before my wedding in July,

Currently todays eating extra easy is

Hea - skimmed milk for tea

    Breakfast - grapes
Lunch - jacket potato and beans
Dinner - chicken rice and peas cooked in soy sauce

Will have a Hifi bar for my heb whilst wathing son play football.

Now off to print some of the great recipes.
Hello and a HUGE welcome. Everyone on here is very friendly and helpful so hopefully that will make things a bit easier for you. Please don't think I'm being critical but looking at your menu that doesn't seem to be a lot to eat ( I couldn't survive ob that but maybe thats why I've got a weight problem!)and I can't see any super free on there other than the grapes, As I understand it and I'm only just getting to grips with Extra Easy myself, you need to have a 3rd of your food intake made up of superfree at every meal. so basically fresh/frozen fruit and non starchy vegetables.
I'm not very good at explaining things so hopefully whilst I've been faffing about typing this someone else has explained that more clearly.

Flat Eric - may be a bit late replying to this:o but i've tried to get myself organised this christmas with meal planning.. I went through all my recipe books and wrote down the title of all the SW recipes (or ones that could be converted) and then i will randomly pick 7 recipes for the week. I will then work my lunch and snacks around the meal. HTH. ( i also included our favourite meals that don't need recipes)

this weeks menu (mains) extra veg /salad not listed
Sunday - fishcakes and potato wedges
Monday - pork meatloaf and couscous
    Tuesday - spanish frittata
Wednesday - lemon and garlic roast chicken
Thursday - chicken and leek pie
Friday - steak and hasselback potatoes
Saturday - herb crumbed fish and chips

Haven't done mix to match for a long time - i think since they bought in EE they ignore the rest of the "old" ways :(

Lo_bush - i find EE hard to get my head around as I'm old school too and i don't eat many veg so struggle to get 1/3rd of my plate superfree. I usually still stick to red and green when i can.. :D

Hi Biscuitmad.. agree with Lo_bush that it doesn't seem a lot of food but adding salad and fruit as your 3rd of a plate would bulk it up more. Will you be having any syns or snacks?

I'm not doing to well today.. the people at work who don't have food issues think it's ok to leave jammie dodgers everywhere and fetch chips for lunch :( meanies :rotfl:i have succumbed to a jammie dodger - 4 syns???

    B - apple, yogurt, weetabix (2)
    L - chicken, ham, pickles, ryvita (B) 2 dairlyea (part A)
T - pork meatloaf and couscous, salad and BNS
    S - satsumas, nectarine, crisps (4) jammie dodger (4) milk in tea(part A)

Just realised this is more of an EE day.. so i'll keep it at that even though it was meant to be red!!

Have a good day all x

So the dreaded WI was this morning and really really upset to find that I've gained a pound . I don't really think I deserve it as I've been on plan for most of the week with only 2 days that I slipped and with the amount of weight I have to lose I'm disappointed that there's not more room for error!!!

don't be disheartened! sometimes we don't loose weight because we've lost fat and built muscle. when i started doing body magic i put on. i wanted to join the RAF and did their military fitness plan so i was doing hardcore stuff. i lost inches and toned up but the scales went up. my consultant ignored it because she knew how much i was doing at the gym. i got bronze AND silver AND some points for gold in ONE WEEK thats how much i did.

i looked at my old book for those the other day.

i think success express is now EE with the values changed round. SE is 2/3 of super free and 1/3 green and/or red free food per meal. EE is just a less "hardcore" SE.

mix to max is basically EE too but making you measure two portions of free food a day cz you still have a R/G HE to use with your red/green meal.

mm - its WI day so i have an apple & hifi bar when i'm there. i can't eat after 7pm due to my digestion problems. i usually eat liquid stuff till dinner - so yoghurt for breakfast and soup for lunch, then have a meaty dinner around 5pm. WI day i eat my dinner at lunchtime instead. so today 2 chicken breasts in tomato sauce - very yummy and will fill me up.
i dont' generally eat much due to my digestion issues (which are huge) but put on weight due to steroids and the need for chocolate & crisps

flat eric - what is a mix to match day? i notice on SW online it is on the diary as an option.....but i've no clue what it is. saidan

MIX to MATCH is similar to having a red or green day - you are allowed two Healthy A options and two Healthy B options but at each meal you either have a red meal or a green meal. So similar to extra easy but each meal, the free foods must either be all red or all green - you can't mix red and green free foods on the same plate. You could still have a measured jacket spud on your plate if you were having a red tea - you would count it as a Healthy Extra B option.

It used to work well for me - I would have a neutral breakfast - fruit / yogurt, a green lunch - jacket spud/salad/Healthy Extra A of cheese then a red tea eg steak, measured spud (HEB) veg. I realise extra easy makes it much easier but I like the structure of having two A options - milk/cheese and then hi fi / spud on a red day for Healthy B Options / Hi fi / ham on a green day.

I struggle with the Extra Easy plan - I miss having two Healthy A options - I like my cheese! and I really struggle to get organised enough to include enough superfree. If I'm having ham egg and chips - I don't want a side of salad or veg... But if I had a big bowl of fruit immediately after munching all my sw chips - then I think the fruit qualifies as my one third superfree.

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted, but i still read and keep up with the thread!

I've no home computer at the moment so using in work on break

Just something i noticed - the tesco simlpy cook range - some of the syn values have maybe changed? The chicken and bacon was free in the week between christmas and new year as i got some reduced and had checked the website. They are now showing as having a syn value:eek:

Tesco, Simply Cook Chicken Breasts topped with Cheese & wrapped in Bacon, twin pack, chilled, 198g each 2 2 12½
12.5 is for the Green syn value.

Also the frozen lamb shanks have syns whereas the chilled ones don't?

Tesco, Simply Cook Lamb Shanks in Mint Gravy, chilled, 420g pack Free Free 31½
Tesco, Simply Cook Lamb Shanks in Mint Gravy, twin pack, frozen, 375g each 1½ 1½ 16½

I've had only an oven since before NYE and am still desperately trying to stay on track.

Well done to the losers and welcome to the newbies.:A

Thank goodness for that Saidan ;) I mean about the reason for the amount of food not about your digestive problems which I understand as I have digestive issues myself and am undergoing various tests at the moment.

Ah a woman after my own heart lo_bush - I look at my food list and there is a huge amount of food on it and then I think is that the reason I'm not losing - but then we're meant to be able to eat loads on SW and a huge amount of my food is SF

Just finished off my DS's jacket potato, luckily the majority of it was free food, just had one Laughing Cow Full Fat Cheese triangle in which I probably had half of, guessing that's pretty high in syns but I haven't had any others (and won't) today so hoping that's ok! Feeling so fat now though, I don't think I'll want any tea :(
