Are Pagan krisprolls (white not brown) free or a HEB?

Flat Eric - I have just tried to plan some meals for this week and got as far as Thursday so not too bad. Good luck, you can do it.
  • Thanks for looking that up, Lo-Bush!
Ammonite, I don't think any white bread-stuffs are a HEB except Hovis Nimble White (I just checked my book but it's not the very very new one)
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Where in the Med are you? Any ripe oranges? Trying to remember a recipe I have in a book in Spain:
peel & slice 4 oranges, 1 red onion
cut 2 avocados into chunks & toss on top
add black olives and some toasted almonds
dress with ?????? Recipe calls for olive oil and lemon I think, but I find a few sprays of frylight plus lemon juice and some spices (cumin seeds???) is ok.
You'd need to syn the avocados, olives and almonds but it's gorgeous :j. The oranges cut through the creaminess of the avocados and the olives and almonds add some extra texture. Serve with a green salad and grilled meat :A.

However, I find the best accompaniment for avocados is a teaspoon :o. Nom nom nom :)

Yes tons of oranges - only the best (Jaffa) as they are grown right here (in Israel) and I have orchards within a 5 minute drive of my house although they can't be freely picked there. I made a similar salad a couple of weeks ago with lettuce, oranges, avocados and red onions and made a honey and poppyseed dressing which was unbelievably good. I don't like olives or almonds so wouldn't add them.
Not sure if this works but googled avocado and this came up - may be adaptable? http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/search.do?keywords=avocado

My Spicy Butternut squash and Red Pepper Soup (may be that it's already out there but I've not seen it - just adapted a Butternut squash version) The syn free version (serves 4 - 6):-

    1 Large butternut Squash, cut
    1 Red Pepper, cut
    1 onion, diced
    1/4 tsp curry powder
    1 tsp ground ginger
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 med potatoe, diced
    2 pints boiling water
    4 chicken oxo cubes

Put the butternut squash and red pepper onto baking trays and spray with oil, roast in the oven until soft and roasted (about 20 mins), mean while put the onion in a pan and gently fry until browned, add the curry powder and ginger and cook for a couple more minutes.
Put the roasted squash, pepper, potatoe and onion into a large pan, add the boiling water, seasoning and oxo cubes and cook for a further 15 - 20 mins then blast it in the blender - delicious!

To make my squash sweeter I usually add some olive oil before roasting - just syn as needed! (Oh and I have now learnt not to measure over the tray, the hard way :rotfl:)!

Could try adding avocado....please let me know if it's nice!!!:rotfl::rotfl:

    Enjoy....:D

The soup recipe is one that I'll definitely try - thanks FC - not sure that the avocado would work in it though!!!!

Managed to get rid of one of them this morning - half each in DH and DD's salads for lunch.

hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j
  • So the dreaded WI was this morning and really really upset to find that I've gained a pound . I don't really think I deserve it as I've been on plan for most of the week with only 2 days that I slipped and with the amount of weight I have to lose I'm disappointed that there's not more room for error!!!

I obviously have to throw some exercise in here as I didn't go to zumba last night so the ugly big treadmill that sits in my living room is going to get dusted down today and I'm going to try and do half an hour a day and see what happens.

Not to be put off by the bad result I've started off the day as I mean to go on and I'm still writing everything down and weighing stuff where necessary. Today's plan looks like this -

    Mon 9 January 2012
B-banana; frittata – 2 eggs, onion, red pepper, tomato, mushrooms, fresh herbs, 45g mozzarella (HEA)
    S-fruit
L-tuna salad – cabbage, tuna, red onion, red pepper, tomato, cucumber, beetroot, seasoning, 1 tblspn light mayo – 2 syns
    S-2 slices w/m bread, 1 tblspn humous, 1 tomato - 2½ syns
D-lentil soup; Mushroom, Squash & Spinach Tart (Nov/Dec11 pg 55)

This sounds good - I love butternut squash soup in the winter!

One trick I came up with is adding a tin of some sort of beans - esp if your going to blitz it! I add cannellini beans or butter beans - they add more body to the soup - they have the health/fibre/speed ratings as well - you know they're good for you!

mm - its WI day so i have an apple & hifi bar when i'm there. i can't eat after 7pm due to my digestion problems. i usually eat liquid stuff till dinner - so yoghurt for breakfast and soup for lunch, then have a meaty dinner around 5pm. WI day i eat my dinner at lunchtime instead. so today 2 chicken breasts in tomato sauce - very yummy and will fill me up.
i dont' generally eat much due to my digestion issues (which are huge) but put on weight due to steroids and the need for chocolate & crisps

flat eric - what is a mix to match day? i notice on SW online it is on the diary as an option.....but i've no clue what it is.
