  • Just made a huge batch of my own version of spicy red pepper and butternut squash soup - it is devine but sadly spilled the oilve oil onto the squash instead of the measure (it was very amusing:rotfl:other half came into the kitchen to find out what all the comotion was :o), so going to have to count it as about 1.5 syns per serving!!! But that's fine not too many.... you live and learn!

    Yum yum yum

    29 lbs gone already....
    Wk1 -1.5lb :D, Wk2 -4.5lb :j, Wk 3 -2lb (10% & 2 stone) :j, Wk 4 + 0.5lb ;), Wk 5 STS :o
  • I'm trying to wean myself off them but last night we had a dinner party (no avocado) but one of my guests brought me a whole bag of them picked from the orchard behind his house!!!

How delicious - you're so lucky to have all this fresh, ripe food on your doorstep!!

Although they are high in syns they really are good for you! Do they last very long when they are freshly picked?

    Enjoy...

WI yesterday and managed to lose .5lb which probably means I did gain through New Year but being back on the tank last week stopped it showing on the scales so am pleased with that.
Good luck everyone, onwards and downwards :rotfl:

I have SW chips in the oven :j - proper comfort food to cheer me up which I shall have with ham and 2 fried eggs :j probably with a side of reheated sweet spud and butternut squash.

I have also made a HUGE beef chilli with added mushrooms, carrot, onion, pepper, sweetcorn, courgette, butternut squash and sweet potato plus a pack of stir fry veg I didn't get round to using. I have also made a beef casserole - again with lots of veg - so thats my meals sorted for the week :j Im hoping that with all the veg I have added to the chilli that it is an extra easy meal. Lunch - well there is not much superfree so I shall have some grapes and blueberries instead afterwards.

The chilli nearly turned into a disaster ! swapping the pans around the hob rings, I turned off the wrong hob so for about ten mins, the chilli didn't have any heat ! good job I noticed ! I would have been so upset if it had got to teatime and I found it wasn't cooked !!

No meals planned yet but feeling more positive now I have some meals to fall back on this week.

I have a Mr T Simply Cook lamb shank that needs using by today but I'm sure it will be ok for another day so will have for tomorrow's tea. If I buy some fresh veg tomorrow (nothing left in fridge now!) then thats dinner sorted for tomorrow :T

    I will get there :T

    Hi all
I fell off the tank spectacularly y'day - i think i ate my own bodyweight in breadsticks and philadelphia...... still i guess its better than eating crisps...
I have a yummy SW roast dinner w/quorn fillets planned for today though, with piles of veg!
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I will be using the quiet time I have today to meal plan. I am undecided how best to do this so if you have any tips, please share.

The most important thing for me is to plan my syns. I also need to work out whether I can do extra easy or whether I should stick with red/green days. At the moment, there is no structure to my days and I'm having far too many syns. :(

I am very near where I started my SW journey and this time round its much harder but one step, one day at a time.

i just work out what i really want to eat that day and which plan it will be best on.

yesterday i wanted melted camembert and fried onions on toast which meant it had to be green to get my two B choices.

makes it easier if you know you want a big portion of meat or fish or a massive bowl of pasta or a fancy cheese because it reduces your choices down to one of two plans.

once i have what i really want sorted i then think of what i can eat on the other days and plan the other two meals around what free food i can have and HE i have left.

    Afternoon everyone :)

Just had a HUGE chicken salad, and it was lovely. I made a soft boiled egg to go with it, and the yolk made a lovely sauce  more chicken for dinner as I got a massive half price free range chicken from Tesco yesterday which I cooked last night - will possibly go in a soup.

Had a good weekend food wise, in fact had a good week so far! Although I did only eat once yesterday which isn't great. I did have my heb and heas as bedtime snacks tho lol

Been shopping all morning, I really can't WAIT til I can go in these shops and actually know things will fit, rather than poke around the shelves whilst hubby is in the changing rooms, feeling like everyone is laughing knowing nothing will fit me :o:(

No idea - I'll let you know. Not all of them are ripe yet but was thinking I need to make something with them otherwise I'll end up binning half of them :( I once made avocado icecream for a "green" party - it was the most disgusting thing I've ever made! Anyone got any soup recipe or other ideas what I can do with them?
