Yes I agree. I started keeping a syn notebook. Sometimes my syns might be around 20 which is a lot so I would simply deduct the syns spent off my weekly allowance rather than give up for the day/week and eat many more syns!

the new app is really good for that. its useless for using as a proper diary and it only just about copes with free food and HE are non existent but for a daily syn list its brilliant.
    Hi guys,
Can someone please tell me how many syns in self raising flour? Have massive craving for sw "fry" up with sweetcorn and chilli fritters!! Yum yum! Have been thinking about it for days and NEED it now!!

    Thanks in advance
    Anna x

25g is 4 syns on all plans (from new book on pg 51)

Just made these, absolutely lush and totally satisfy savoury cravings. It's a wagamama recipe:
Frozen soya (edamame) beans, stir fried in frylight and dark soy sauce and chilli flakes/powder or salt. Cook and keep stirring until beans get colour, and the liquid reduces and goes sticky. Totally FREE.
Even better - do it with forzen broad beans instead...still free, but also superspeed food.
    My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.

Not on plan today but in control of my meals tomorrow and intending to finally get back on track, write up a meal plan (that I will stick to) and get those pounds shifted.

I don't know why I have found it so hard to get back on track? My clothes don't fit and I'm unhappy so why am I still having too many syns each day and doing my best to ensure a gain when I weigh next week ?

    Frustrated doesn't come close.

Anyhow, have a quiet day planned tomorrow so hoping to sort out meal plans and find lots of nice recipes I want to try :j

Did I see that Pagen krisprolls are no longer a HE, as of this years new book?
Noooooooooo!!!!:(:(:( Oh well I have some to use up, so that's tough. At the rate I'm going I shall have to re-sign with a class soon anyway. I'd lost a couple of pounds this morning, but have gone a bit mad during the day. Won't mention by name any of the syns cos when you lot do that it always makes my mouth water.

Morning, diet goig well though not looking forward to a bunfught in IKEA this morning.... gah. Why did we decide to do this???

My DH, who has been steadily bloating up over the past year, has finally knuckled down and in true man-on-a-diet style has lost half a stone in five days. Pretty good going! And of course really annoying because even though he has far more weight than me to lose he will undoubtedly speed past me at a rate of knots to goal! Still, it was really good to see him looking pleased and motivated this morning when he weighed. As for me, I've lost 4.5lb in five days, which is well on the way to reversing my horrendous overall December gain of 10lb...

On the bright side, for the "couple of the year" award it doesn't matter who has lost the most :D

Today's food didn't look anything like the list I posted earlier, I've actually had.......

Breakfast - cornflakes and milk (A choice)
Lunch - quorn ham, beetroot, pickled onions, 3 cheese biscuit cracker things (3 syns), 50% less fat roule cheese (A choice)
    Snack - satsuma
Tea - more quorn ham, new potatoes, tomatoes
Snack - strawberries, tablespoon of chocolate spread (4 syns), 3 sherbet lemons (3 syns)

So not brillliant but could have been a lot worse - star day today and I could eat the dog I'm that ravenous! (don't want good food, just rubbish!)

ETA - Just worked out the syns and have had 10 syns plus the cornflakes (which I'm going to count as a HEB;))

my mums friend did it and failed miserably at it. she's rejoined a proper group now. i think most of the support comes from the group and knowing you need to in affect be accountable to other people for how you do this week.

That's what I thought, hmmmm, there is not really a group handy. I will investigate further..........
