That's really good advice Eric. I more or less work on the syn free eating myself (just an occasional bit of gravy). I save my syns up for wine as I don't have a sweet tooth. On another thread I find the SNC (School Night Challenge) keeps me on the straight and narrow from Monday to Thursday.

    School night challenge? Sounds interesting!

Good morning all! Very early for me but couldn't sleep so just got up and switched on the laptop.
I had a great Christmas holiday, went skiing with my family the week before Christmas and then came home and ate like a pig for the rest of it. So now I'm fat and broke so need to reign in the spending and the eating:p.
I've put on 4 lbs which I must lose over the next week or two so will have to hall my backside right back onto the wagon! I've got the Muller Lights and the fat-free supernoodles in (emergency supplies for my thrash fix - I wouldn't say I loved either of them but they seem to get me over the crisps and/or chocolate cravings).

I need to do some meal-planning and sorting out the cupboards now - when I can be bothered to get up off the sofa!

Hi Everyone, Hope you don't mind if I join in. I have been following this thread for a long time and I have decided that it is time to come out of the shadows. I was a target member with slimming world for over a year now but Christmas has taken its toll and the result is that I have put on nearly a stone in about 5/6 weeks.

So what i am looking for is some tips on how to break the cycle of eating junk and getting back into the way of following slimming world. I do attend group but have not been able to attend in over 7 weeks so going back to group is the first thing I am going to do. I don't really like the format but the threat of a weigh in is the only thing that keeps me on the straight and narrow.

As I will have to go back to paying I would really I would like some extra support from you lovely people. Thanks in advance.:)
I know what I'm like with junk food around so I just can't have it in the house. We can kid ourselves that we have it there for the kids or if someone comes in and you want to have something nice to serve them but in all honesty we keep it there for ourselves - almost like a comfort blanket! And if you have loads of stuff lying around since Xmas then take it to a local children's home or some other local charity when maybe they can put it in their next tombola for an event - whatever you do just get it out of sight!
Hi folks, need to do something and sw sounds good. I hope its ok for me to join the thread. Too much weight to lose so will start at the 10% off target first! Any support gratefully received and will do my best to return. xx
Welcome VM and good luck - this site is brilliant - everyone is so friendly and helpful - I've only been here a couple of weeks but it's been really good for me.

Plan your meals and don't include syns - use them for treats. Vary your healthy b options. Play superfree bingo - type up fruit and veg from orange pages and see how quickly you can cross them all off!

Each pound off the scales = the appropriate weight in tins into a rucksack. want that synful snack ? put the rucksack on and see whether you still want that snack or want to keep the weigh off ?
Love the rucksack idea FE and I totally agree with you about the syns. I don't build any in except for my light mayo and humous because if I start adding in one choc it will lead to so many more so I'm happy to keep my syns to 4 or 5 a day and know that if I have an event or something and I'm forced to eat off plan a bit I have room to allow for it.

Hi all, Can someone tell me if today has been ok for me? EE day (I think....)

Breakfast / lunch - eggs, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes fried in fry light, 2 x quern sausages and baked beans (2 syns)
Dinner - 2 x jacket potatoes cooked plain the microwave topped with a tin of tuna in brine, 1 level tablespoon of extra light mayo (1 sun) and quark. Sauteed onions (in fry light)
Snacks - apple & fibre plus bar (HEb) 25ml of Baileys (2 syns) and a quality street choccie (2 syns)
I had 250ml of semi-skimmed milk in tea (HEa)
Oh I also had a skinny cappuccino sachet (3 syns)

Does that sound alright? I think I'm within the syns limit?
Liz you're denying yourself! You are ALLOWED to eat so much more food than this and you don't have lunch? You can and should bulk up any meal with lots of veggies or salad. Snacks are a problem for me too but I've been snacking on oranges and bananas mainly - the bananas aren't probably the best choice but it's what's cheap here at the moment and certainly better than what I might have instead!

Day 1 back on plan. Feeling like absolute rubbish this morning and can't even blame the red wine I was sorely tempted to enjoy last night.

Emergency I need to eat now breakfast has been 28g of Alpen no added sugar. I didn't know if was a HEB but ate anyway! and on checking (after eating!) it would appear not! so 5 odd syns for that but don't mind. Its syns on chocolate I don't want to waste. Breakfast for me is usually a hi fi bar but they have discontinued my favourite (cranberry) so now all my stocks are used up, I'm at a bit of a loose end. To be honest, I don't like the hi fi light bars and the other hi fi flavours well they are a bit hit and miss,

I think lunch is going to be jacket potato, beans and salad and tea I suspect will be slimming world chips and eggs.

Was going to cook a chilli but can't be bothered to visit the supermarket and don't have the energy at the moment to faff in the kitchen.

Back to work tomorrow so need to write up a plan of sorts today otherwise I am going to struggle.

Suspect today will mostly be relaxing on the sofa with my kindle and the cat but will try to meal plan first.

Yesterday I didn't get up to 11am and then wanted to see the local car rally before I even thought about food so that's why I didn't have breakfast! Normally I would every single day :)

I thought that was a decent amount of food yesterday, and I certainly felt satisfied. I will try harder to eat more though it's difficult to do that when I've been conditioned over the years to eat less!

    Morning all!
I don't think I ate enough yesterday as I had the 9.30pm what can I scoff feeling - not good - but I did resist anything awful and kept within 10 syns.

So today I need to make sure I have enough to stop me from wanting to pick...

    Breakfast - banana
Lunch - 2 scrambled eggs, tomatoes, 2 LM sausages (4 syns), mushrooms, maybe 1 piece of toast
Tea - big bowl of bean chilli (free) with a bit of cheese grated on top
    Snacks - clementines, strawberries

I wasn't meaning to berate Liz - sorry if it came over that way. I think the point of the program is that the more super free fruit and vegetables we eat the more weight we'll lose so the preference is to eat those more than other foods. On one of the other forums I'm on we have a SF10 challenge where we have to list each day the 10 SF foods we've eaten - it really makes you want to add more of these good foods to your daily plan.

Just had two boiled eggs and 2 x small slices of wholemeal toast for breakfast, and enjoying a cuppa. Still feel a bit peckish so will have a banana and apple as well. Is that ok for an EE breakfast?
