I agree with senora that what matters is you need a plan! If the plan is to have a couple of weeks off then that's your choice.

I've never understood how people manage with doing flexi 'officially' when you're supposed to keep a track of syns. How can you possibly go to a party and calculate the syns in a buffet someone else has provided?? Personally I just have what I like when I'm flexi but make certain I'm back on plan ASAP.

Which is where I am today after last night's chinese:drool:
I'm hoping to be syn free today, depending on how I cook dinner.

B: NAS squash, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas, satsuma
L: JP with tuna and pickled beetroot
D: pork steaks, carrots, broccoli (those are definite ingredients but not sure whether to go down the meat and 2 veg route or do a recipe involving tbsps of honey and sherry?)
    S: HEB to use up

A bit vague today, but definitely on plan whatever I decide.

I tried to work without a plan and I was so off-plan that it's taken me 4 months to get back to the point of starting again (and I'm starting heavier!)

I write down every morning what I "plan" to have during the day and I will build on it or subtract from it but it's based on whatever leftovers I have from the previous day and what particular recipe I want to make for dinner.

Maman - I love all your shortforms but I've been scratching my head wondering what the hell JP stands for???? :D

    Hello All,

Well last night didn't turn out too bad apart from a glass of pink champers, some wm bread and a waffle with some ice cream for desert. The main meal was all fish, salad etc so that was ok. Today is going well apart from a wee lick of the bowl whilst I was making lemon curd cupcakes for my Dad to take into work (I suppose I should count 4 syns for that?) I've also been for a 3 mile run so am happy with that.

    EE again:
B - Porridge (HEB), Banana, 125ml Semi-skimmed Milk (part of HEA)
S - White lindor chic ball (4 syns I'm guessing as was 77 cals)
L - SW ham and mushroom quiche and a drizzle of sweet chilli sauce (1 1/2 syns), fruit
D - Steak with salad and SW wedges
S - Satsuma and possibly more fruit later on.

I know I shouldn't but I went on the scales this morning and they said I had gained 3lb overnight. It is soon to be *week so I am hoping that it's down to that.

I think you're being hard on yourself but as you've had other syns today if it were me I'd say - ok no more syns for me today!

  • I was determined not to get on the scales for a whole week but I couldn't resist the temptation to see myself fail again!!!! I feel as if I've been eating tons and tons of food and was really surprised and pleased to find that I'm down almost 2kg since starting on Monday - that's almost 4lb - really happy and just hope I can keep up the good work.

B – banana; frittata – cabbage, mushrooms, courgettes, 2 eggs, seasoning, 30g cheese (HEA)
S – banana, smoked turkey breast, pickled cucumbers
L – Tomato & Parsley Risotto - left over from earlier in the week
    S – 2 slices w/m bread, 2 tblspns humous, pickled cucumbers, tomato (HEB) - 5
D - planning - Vegetable Soup (already made) – pumpkin, sweet potato, onion, carrots, courgettes, celery, tinned tomatoes, seasoning, stock; Herby Salmon Burgers & Chips (from this month's little extra booklet); Salad – leaves, cucumbers, red onions, avocado, red pepper, tomatoes

I've not had much fruit today so will probably have an orange and a persimmon while making supper to keep me from picking at anything else.
I'm also trying to drink as much water as I can and have a 75ml bottle on my desk all the time - finished one of these today and half way through the second but I have to stop drinking by 7pm or I'm up all night!!

Mediterranean Mum I am jealous, I can't weigh because my battery has gone in my scales. But have managed to wear a pair of trousers today that I couldn't fasten last time I tried them:j
    So my menu for today

B 5 Crackerbreads HE A with scrape of jam 2 sins
L Scrambled egg with an ounce of cheddar HE B and beans
D Big salad with fish and pasta.

I know not enough veg today but breakfast and lunch were a mad rush and at least I am not going off plan.

Need to get some scales for my Friday weigh in.
Have done all my Christmas shopping. That should be it until after New Year now, hopefully:D

Julie67 are you also doing this on your own - no group? If you're going to group then if I were you I'd continue with no scales at home - if you're anything like me you'll just obsess about it all week! I'm really trying to wean myself of the daily weigh in!!!

I think your HE's are wrong way round :o cheese is HEA unless you're doing green in which case it can be both. Crackerbreads are HEBs although I'm not sure how many or which brands as my book is so old. Probably just a typo but thought I'd point it out in case :D
