Working hard to get rid of our debt.0 -
Urgh. Utter disaster. How, I don't know, but I have managed to put on six pounds on my three-day trip to Lapland. How can that be???!!! I am now desperately trying to lose them again before CHristmas so I don't end up over the next stone barrier during Xmas and new year. Honestly, I don't know what happened - it was all buffet catering and finland doesn't have the best food but still, I thought I'd kept it fairly well under control - expected to gain a couple of pounds perhaps. But six!!!
Feeling disheartened in the extreme. Am working hard on the plan again and back on 30 day shred, but it all feels a bit desperate.0 -
Just found this thread and love it. So far I have lost 13lbs and have another 3.5lbs to my 10% and then another 3 lb to my target. may not sound a lot in comparison to some but it has changed my life so far. I can wear clothes i want to, feel confident, approved my relationship and I even enjoyed clothes shopping last week.APR NSD - 0/10

I am loving this thread - there are some great weight losses and you are all such a bunch of lovely friendly people -thank you one and all.
I'm definitely in the minority here as we don't have Christmas over here - but have Chanukah instead - so instead of one big blow out for Christmas we have eight days of oil-laden foods including doughnuts and latkes - a dieters nightmare (actually a human being's nightmare!!!).
First night is tonight - we light beautiful candles every night - and I'm trying to think of what to make that can represent the holiday but not have all the calories. There is a recipe in the latest magazine for Spiced Courgette Fritters which I'm going to try and I still have loads of soup left over from last night. I also bought loads of greens for a big salad to go with it.
todays food -
B – banana, roasted sweet potato, roasted aubergine, tomatoes, cucumber, 2 slices w/m bread, 1 tblspn made techina, tea with a splash of milk (HEB) – 4 syns
L – Tomato & Parsley Risotto (from this month’s little freebie booklet), 2 hard-boiled eggs, pickled cucumbers, orange
S – one banana, one persimmon
D – Vegetable Soup – pumpkin, sweet potato, onion, carrots, courgettes, celery, tinned tomatoes, seasoning, stock; Spiced Courgette Fritters (from this month’s mag) (HEA); Salad – leaves, cucumbers, spring onions, red pepperMediterranean Mum

Good Afternoon,
Well done Piglet and everyone else who is limiting the damage of festive eating. It is hard but if we weren't completely mindful of what we were eating we could be putting on so much more than we might do otherwise. I have amazingly managed to lose 1lb this week but I can't see it lasting. I am out tonight accompanying my Mom to a party, tomorrow we are going to the Panto and Thursday I am off to a friends for dinner. I have however ran 3 miles this morning and will be doing the same tomorrow and Thursday, and a longer run and a walk on the weekend.
Today is EE:
B - Porridge (HEB), 125 ml Skimmed Milk (part HEA), banana and strawberries
L - SW quiche (eggs and FF cottage cheese) with haddock/new pots/cabbage/tomato/onion/pepper. Dash of sweet chilli sauce (1.5 syns)
S - 2 caramel Snack-a-Jacks (6 syns), quark mixed with 1/2 sachet of white Options (1 syn)
D - Not sure as I'm going out but won't be drinking
S - Rest of HEA is milk with tea and possible more fruit.Slimming World Restart Again 14/02/11: 152lbs

Well done Dimbo79. I call this damage limitation! I know we might not always be 100% on track but by continuing to go to weigh in or reporting on the forum I think it gives us some kind of perspective - an increase of 1lb might otherwise have been so many more.
You've lost 1lb - that's great and you should be proud. The fact that you are making yourself exercise despite the extra eating is absolutely brilliant.Mediterranean Mum

I'm also loving this thread, whenever I feel like eating rubbish just cos it's a habit, not because I am hungry, I pop on here and read and sometimes post. I know I am going to do it this time:DStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Happy Chanukah Medterranean Mum. I'm interested that you're trying the recipes in this month's mag. Do tell us how they turn out esp. the courgette fritters.
:Tpiglet, that's a really good weightloss pattern and sazdaz you sound so (justifiably) pleased with yourself too.
Don't worry about the instant weightgain sarah, I've always found that holiday gains always come off quickly once you get back on plan.
I've got a while to myself before family come for chinese (and birthday cake and champagne) and it is nice not having to cook.
I think mm's right that if we keep checking in and thinking about SW we'll come through the holiday OK. I think the secret is meal planning with associated shopping list so you've got plenty of SW friendly foods in to fill up on.
Have a good evening everyone.0
