The longer I do SW the more psychological I realise it is, which in turn is symptomatic of people's relationship with food.

I totally agree with you :T I always used to turn to food in times of crisis/sadness....without even realising I was doing it (hence getting to 14 stone in the aftermath of my brain surgery and everything that followed)

This is why its so important to me now that I try keep control, so I know that even though this is probably the most stressful time I'm going to have.....I can go through it without using 'bad' food for comfort;) I'm just stuffing myself stoooopid on satsumas instead :D.

Christmas day/Boxing day however......well I have kind of given myself a flexi days there - If MIL is still with us, we are at SIL's & I want it to be the best Xmas Day to remember, so I will be having a little of everything on offer (but no baileys as I don't know when to stop:eek:)....guilt free;) then back on plan

That's the way to do it!!!!

I generally manage by not buying things that arent SW friendly but at this time of the year that's very difficult.

DH keeps checking 'you will be buying chocolates this year, won't you?' and he made sure dates, figs, nuts etc all went into the trolley. Plus there's crisps, cream, stollen, lovely cheeses, Christmas pud.... Sadly they're all things I like:( I think he was worried we were going to have a super frugal and SW friendly Christmas.

I'm going to do like dizzy and have a couple of flexi days (or maybe just flexi meals) and make sure I plan SW stuff around it. It's the picking at snacky stuff just lying around that's the problem.

    Today's EE menu:
B: NAS squash, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: bubble & squeak, pickled beetroot
D: SW chicken curry, chips, rice
Syns: weekend wine:jbhaji, samosa. I bought some McCains rustic chips as a treat so may have those with my curry but they're very low syn.

Afternoon all, just surfaced enough to post here. Had a really bad night, sore throat, temperature generally feeling blergh. WI yesterday another .5lb gain but was really bloated at the time. WI again just now and still the same as yesterday but had breakfast and couple of drinks before so wonder if I'd really STS. Have recorded the gain though. Still not eating properly, hubby doing his best to feed me up [rhubarb crumble & custard to cheer me up :o]. He has made me a carrot & onion soup though so hopefully will have a better week as can take control now schools finished.

Have been keeping up with the thread but not had energy to post much. So well done losers and big hugs to those in need. Will make more of an effort when feeling better :o.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Afternoon all,

Can I come back and join you. I always read but as I have just not been on plan at all didn't feel I could post.:o

Anyway I seem to have had some kind of epiphany and have just decided enough is enough. At 5ft 2 and 13.8 I feel huge, not to mention terrible IBS through eating too much bread.
SO today have been back and reread all my SW material and I mean really read it. Going to try some of the visualisation techniques as well.
My son gets married is Australia next Christmas so I want to be at goal by then or near enough. I know this is a strange time of year to begin but I don't want to be another half a stone heavier after Christmas.
I am also planning to walk most days and use the wii when the weather is really bad. I have only ever done red and green days before so really looking forward to EE.
Wish me luck. I really feel differently this time that I can do it.:)

  • Wow this is some thread - I've been dipping into it from the very first page and some of you have some great losses and are a real inspiration - thank you.

I've started and stopped this program so many times - my main excuse being that I have no groups to go to and I have no willpower to do this on my own. However my latest blood work has come back really bad and taking 10 pills a day is no joke! So here's hoping that I can really get to grips with this this time around. I can get most things over here but not everything so I'll be asking what I can substitute with sometimes and for help with syn values too. I have a huge amount to lose so here's hoping I can join some of you big losers before too long.

hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j
