thanks for the replies guys - I was contemplating going it alone, till someone in the office started talking about getting cream cakes and I thought 'hmm, can always start next week', nooooooo .... decided there and then that I needed to go back to class. So, found one last night and joined, it's been a few years since I last did SW, so the EE is all new to me. I told the consultant that I'm happy sticking to a mixture of green and red days as that's what I've always done, but he insisted I do EE for the first few weeks and no more than 10 syns a day.

what do you guys find works best for you? the consultant told me that most people do EE now and that he'll be checking my food diaries and will know if I'm not sticking to EE?!

    Thanks
    Jo

Sounds a bit OTT to me!

I do green days because they suit me, surely it is better to do what suits YOU better as there is more chance of you sticking to it long term that way.

    Thanks Gunandbanjos

Yep, have decided that I’m going to stick to what I know and once I’m back into it, then I’ll have a look at EE, I hate being told that I HAVE to do something. I’m also going to find a different group as I wasn’t overly impressed with the consultant - when he sat me down for the welcome chat he asked if I’d ever done SW before, I said yes and without taking a beat he said “ well are you gonna stick to it this time, otherwise it’s a waste of time and money!”, flippin ‘eck, good job I wasn’t feeling low/nervous otherwise I’d have run out as fast as my legs could carry me! I found myself explaining I’d done SW six years ago, had maintained my target weight until this year, but had put on 1 stone weight due to illness/medication and felt like the support of a group would help keep me focussed and get back to my target. I was annoyed with myself as I felt like I’d had to explain why I was back at SW, when really that's no one's business but mine. Hmm, maybe that explains why there was only 7 people in the group!:rotfl:
  • Sounds like your consultant is one of the tough-love variety Jo4anne... either that or just rude!

I've had an odd day. Despite working from home i havn't planned my eating at alland its been dreadful. Time to tot it up I think...

B: nestle clusters cereal (5) and milk (A)
L: chicken salad sandwhich (2xB) with apple sauce (2) and tomatoes
S: loads of grapes, couple handfuls of nuts and raisins (7) breakaway bar (5)

Jeez thats 19 syns already and I barely noticed. Free pasta and tuna for tea I think!!
  • Good Evening,

I would like to come back into the fold if I may? I need a major kick up the bum to get back on track and think you lot are the peeps to do it. I am living away in the Middle East at the moment and have been since April. I go home in 6 weeks and I want to shed a 10 lbs if I can, more would be nice. I was doing really well up until a few weeks ago and now feel like the jelly belly is back with a vengeance. So this is it, from tomorrow until 10 Oct I am going to keep you posted on my food and exercise every day. Only problem is I am scared to weigh myself as I know I have put on at least 5lbs if not more over the last few weeks and it has all been from silly boredom binging. I think I will do it on Sunday as that will be the exact 6 week mark.

Off to catch up with the thread now :)

  • Here is my menu for today, I am following EE:

Breakfast: 1 weetabix (1/2 HEA) with skimmed milk, 1 apple
Lunch: Ham salad sandwich (lots of salad) made with ww bread (HEB), muller light yog.
Dinner: Beef casserole made with lean stewing steak, baby new pots, green and red pepper, mushrooms, carrots, parsnips, tinned toms, mixed herbs, garlic, tomato puree (few gravy granules to thicken - 2 syns?) peas on the side. sug free jelly (1 syn?) and strawberries.
Diet coke, tea and coffee to drink.

    Trying to be very good!

I make that 3 syns for today's food. If anyone thinks differently, could you please advise?

    Thanks X

Could I please join in? I have joined Slimming World tonight. I've a lot to lose. :(

When I got weighed tonight, I was watching her writing in my book. I nearly fainted. I said 'omg, I knew I had put on weight but I had no idea I was
24 stone 8 lbs'. She said, you're not, that's the date - 24.8 (24th August). Ever felt a fool. lol.

:rotfl::rotfl: Welcome to the thread. What a pity you didn't join a fortnight or so ago, you would have felt great :rotfl::rotfl:
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Yes I had skimmed milk in tea and coffee from my allowance.
I didn't syn my weetabix as I had 2 slices of weight watchers malted danish bread for my sandwich at lunch and I thought you could have 3 of these as a HEB? I counted the weetabix as the extra part of the HEB or was this wrong?
(I'm still trying to get my head around working out syns lol!)

    Thanks for your advice. X
