Thankyou all for your kind messages re MIL :A we are all very much still in shock and very sad about the news......especially as we seem to have so little time left now as things have got this bad so quickly (she has somehow got to this stage without showing any symptoms that could be picked up on
)
Anyway, we muddle on in the meantime........ and as promised I am here to give you all a good giggle - Dizzy managed to pile on 13lb of excess baggage in cuba:rotfl:well I did say I was going to go and enjoy it
I blame the Mojitos!!! they pile 2 1/2 heaped teaspoons of sugar into each one when they make them!! I only found this out on week 3:o
Soooooo I'm strapped firmly to the tank (and sat in the naughty corner) I've been shopping today & even though I feel like eating lots of comfort food & choccies to get away from the stressy stuff I WILL NOT GIVE IN TO THE FOOD FAIRIES......but I may have to have a couple of rum & diet cokes (for medicinal purposes - of course;))
Off to put my Jamas on now & wait for MR D to get home, be good everyone :A x x0 -
So sorry for your news, Dizzy
May I congratulate you on the spectacular gain tho, that's an achievement :rotfl: and I bet you enjoyed every lb of it!
Bit of a meh day today. Fruit, pasta n sauce, salad, chicken BORING.
Did level 1 day 6 of 30 day shred. Have hurt my ankle a little at the side tho so swapped the jumping jacks for high knees as sideways jumping was really painful. Got to be super good this weekend, as have a work meal out on Monday, then a work christmas do next Saturday. Plus I'm due just before WI, so will probably be a v small loss if any grrrrr.
Have a good weekend everyone!"Empires are not brought down by outside forces, they are destroyed by weaknesses from within."0 -
Hello everyone!!
what a lot of new faces :T
Well I'm back from my travels to Cuba, had the most amaaaaazing holiday (and I'm about to go to group now to find out just how much excess baggage I have brought home with me :rotfl::o)
Our holiday ended on a sad note though.....we walked back through the door to be greeted by sis in law and Mum in law who had just come back from the hospital, MIL hasn't been very well for a few weeks now & being sick a lot - she had a CT scan done on Friday last week, and got called for the results the day we flew home......she has the latter stages of bowel cancer, which had spread rapidly through her abdomen and into her lungsshe isn't expected to make it until xmas:(:( we are all devastated as none of us had any idea that she was this ill. The only good thing is that at the moment she says she has no pain at all....expect that she has 'hunger pains' from not eating (bless her she is such a tough old bird:o)
Anyway - I may be a bit hit & miss getting on here for a bit-with one thing and another, but I will update my 'mahoooooosive gain' just to give you a a good giggle;):p then I will do my best to keep on track with th SW plan while everything is going pearshaped at home.
speak soon guys x x:A
Hi, glad to see you back and really glad you had a great holiday. SO SORRY to hear the news about MIL.
I haven't been on here for a while due to work but I'm still struggling to get back within target range but I'll keep trying.
I have a huge (60th) birthday coming up and also our ruby wedding anniversary (40 years - murderers get far less!!!) so I really want to get a few pounds off for then.
Welcome to all the newbies, nice to 'see' so many.

Hi Dizzy welcome back from your hols, I sneaked back in whilst you were away ......and there is absolutely no need for you to mention Rocky horror deserts!
So sorry to hear about you sad news, life seems to be giving a lot of people an unfair kicking right now, just try and keep smiling and we'll try to help with that in whatever way we can.
WI was last night for me and, as I feared, I had a gain albeit only 0.5lb, but I'm still not happy about it as I don't think it was deserved ........... Unless....... Can stress effect weight loss or cause weight gain? If so I'm surprised it wasn't half a stone! The new consultant was actually very nice and, apart from running over, group ran smoothly and was very interesting.
Anyway a new day, so onwards we go. I've just had a cup of BLACK coffee (a first for me at 46 years of age ....... I've led such a sheltered life :rotfl: ) and it was actually ok, so thats another way I'll be able to up my fluid intake without 'wasting' my milk allowance, too cold for squash and coke. I'm not keen on the fruit teas.
Keep up the good work everybody, Christmas is fast approaching and we all want to look our best.
I always drink black coffee (I prefer it now). I also have warm NAS squash, it's lovely. x0 -
WOW Dizzy!!! You really did enjoy Cuba and that's what a holiday is for, to ENJOY, real life can be enough of a pain. Glad to see you back on the tank, but I'm sorry you can't sit in the naughty corner (no room you see, it's full) It's not naughty to enjoy a holiday, it's a legal right.
Hope everythings as ok as it can be at the moment. When Life Throws You Lemons Make Lemonade0 -
dizzy - i put on a lb just looking at a cake so you did well, and glad you enjoyed your hols.
i really don't like black tea/coffee, or fruit teas. so have 350ml skimmed milk per day as hea. limits my other options but gotta have my tea
going out this evening - school mums night out with meal. so think i'll be red as far as i can, but will have to be flexi later.
b: banana
l: 2 laugh cow xtra light & ham nimble sandwich as picnic while out for an hour tramping through the woods (i have 2 boys who are very outdoorsy). Hot tomato & pepper homemade soup on our return.
d: the menu is - parsnip soup, turkey dinner, and choc mousse. Will try to make the best choices when it arrives. I dont drink alcohol so will stick with diet cola.

Evening all, seems saturdays will be very emotional days for me for the forseeable future. Hold it together all week and am so overwhelmed come saturday that spend in floods of tears. Enough said sorry.
WI today and LOST another .8lb. Not sure how this is happening as haven't been brilliant food wise. Determined to stop losing by eating chinese and cherry bakewells with custard .
Sorry I know I shouldn't be complaining about losing weight when others are strugglingSORRY :silenced:
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Oh hugs DIZZY :grouphug: thinking of you xxxx and hugs too to takeiteasy xxxx
its been a strange couple of weeks for me. Lost 3 1/2 pounds Two? weeks ago. Followed this the following week by a gain of 1/2 pound then this week, it was a 1 lb gain. This week hasn't got off to the best of starts...... and I feel another gain will be on the cards for weigh in next week.
Have eaten lots of rubbish so far this week due to bad organising and being tired and the xmas social stuff has started.
Determined though to have a good couple of days before weigh in and have taken meat out to defrost so I can make a sw curry for tea tomorrow.
Will try to get on and post menus and hopefully stay on track.
Don't want to give up now when xmas is still 3 plus weeks away. Would be great to get under next stone level for xmas :j rather than eat lots of rubbish and start the new year at my heaviest....0 -
Dizzy! Welcome back it's good to see (so much) of you :rotfl: it takes some effort to put on nearly a stone! (don't talk about sugar, I haven't had sugar in hot drinks since I was a teenager but my work colleague takes sugar in his coffee and leaves the box of Rough Cut Brown Sugar Lumps on his desk. I keep eating one or two or three. I've asked him now to put it in his drawer as I can't be trusted.
So sorry to hear about your MIL, big hugs for you and Mr Dizzy. I know across the country a scheme is being rolled out where people of a certain age (my age) get a little package for submitting pooh samples for investigation. It's not as gross as it sounds and will pick up very very very early signs of bowel cancer so if one plops :rotfl:through your doors, SW-ers, please do use it.Anyway a new day, so onwards we go. Well I've had an "easygoing" week so now I am firmly back on the tank and eating healthy leftovers. I'm about to chow down on an enormous pomegranate so I may be gone some time :rotfl::jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
