TakeItEazy Do you have another bank account that you can have your wages paid into? If so I'd get onto your HR dept quick sharp and ask them to do so. Sorry to hear about your dad. If you need any help with the probate stuff give me a shout. I did probate myself when my husband died. Cost me £96 instead of a huge solicitors bill.
I've just restarted SW after a bit of a glitch. I was one of the contenders for our groups Woman of the Year award. The consultant wanted me to stand up in group and say a bit about why I was trying to lose weight etc. Now I can talk about my husband dying online, and even to friends face to face, but there's no way I could have stood in front of a group of people to explain that my small son needs to keep his one remaining parent as long as possible. That was the end of July/beginning of August and it's taken me until now to get back to wanting to carry on.
I'm making pea and ham soup today, yum yumExcellent news about Mrs M by the way :T

If EE I can't see much superfree except at breakfast with some fruit for snacks. and if it's red or green then your chickpeas/rice or the prawns have to be counted as HEB.
Thanks blackerry-rum.
I'm doing EE - never tried the red or green thing. I'm a newbie so EE seemed the best option! The chickpea stew had carrots, parsnips, onions, courgettes and tomatoes for veg - are they all superfree? Not sure about chickpeas - presume they're not superfree, just free?
The dinner had peas and onions - not great, I know. I oonly just discovered that peas don't count as superfree. Bah. In my defence it was made by my lovely DH who is also supposedly doing SW but not being very good at it!0 -
Feeling much better about myself now I'm back on plan. I'm so determined not to slip back into bad ways I have to be sure to haul myself back on the tank after social occasions (although not so much of me to haul on these days;)). lo_bush posted yesterday about her meals at the Harvester etc. It was so totally worth watching what I ate when I was out when getting to target. Now I'm going flexi when I'm out but being sure I'm extra 'good' in between.
Today's EE menu:
B: NAS squash, HEB toast, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes fried egg, HEA milk for teas
L: tomato & cucumber sandwich and I noticed some wisened satsumas I'll polish offchicken casserole with leeks, carrots, mushrooms, onions served with broccoli and roasties
Syns: just a tbsp of cornflour shared with DH
Have a good day all.0 -
hi, Im going to join SW tomorrow morning. My friend has been doing it and seems to eat loads and is losing weight, so I thought thats the plan for me!!
I have a question, I don't have much to lose (not actually overweight, just too big for me personally), will I be able to lose weight on this plan? Anyone else just had a small amount to lose and its worked.
Thanks0 -

Hiya, I'm a long time lurker and target member in need of some motivation. I'm currently sitting uncomfortably at 10lbs over target and a stone over my lightest weight in June this year. I need a serious kick up the proverbial. I have a ball to go to on the 2nd Dec, so I'm hoping I can shift a few pounds before then. My main problem is alcohol as I live in a military Mess with a bar literally down the stairs and people around all the time cajoling me into "1 or 2" nearly every night.
So then today is a Green day:
B - Dorset Cereals Fruity Porridge (HEB) with 125ml of Skimmed Milk (part of HEA), raspberries and blueberries. I need to have a scan bran too but don't have any in so will have a ryvita later on instead
S - Grapes
L - Speed food soup
D - Baked beans on 2 WG toast from 400g loaf (HEB)
I am also trying to drink lots of water, green tea and will also be going to the gym in a bit and doing the 30 day shred.
Have a good day

Hi MrsPov and welcome! I would say a definite yes to that! I wasn't overweight either (BMI under the 25 mark) and I've lost weight almost every week. What you will have to accept is that you won't have the big losses - maybe just 1-2 lbs - and some weeks you may lose nothing at all. But this is down to you being close to target. (Although saying that I have a friend who lost 8lbs in two weeks and she only had 10lbs to lose to get to a BMI of 23!).
I find other diets too restrictive (I love cooking and baking) and there's always something 'free' I can eat on this diet. Also, since they've added the EE plan it's a lot easier to follow it and still have family meals. That was my problem with SW in the past - I couldn't make many meals for all the family and it got a bit monotonous.
I'm doing it online as can't really find the time to go to a class but it's going well so far.

Thank you WeBeBroke, that sounds very encouraging. I tried WW and did lose weight but I was starving all the time and apparently not very nice to live with!!! I need carbs.
The EE plan sounds great, I like to cook everything from scratch anyway and it looks really easy to do meals that the whole family will eat.
Well I will WI tomorrow and see what its all about, quite excited actually.
11 weeks til my holidays so hopefully get some weight off for then.

I use all my syns (70 a week) but I save them up for weekend treats.:j i won the groups Miss Slinky 2011 :j
:T it's a loss!! and next week's will probably be better. My main problem is alcohol as I live in a military Mess with a bar literally down the stairs and people around all the time cajoling me into "1 or 2" nearly every night.
We share the same problem dimbo. I use almost all my syns for weekend wine:D and eat almost syn free during the week. It's not the official way but it suits me and it's worked. There's a great thread called 'Giving up/Cutting down alcohol' where we do a School Night Challenge (no drinking Monday to Thurs) and monthly totals. It's like a star chart for grown ups with lots of support and encouragement. You might want to try that as well. Good luck!0
