Oh TIE - it never rains but it pours *sigh* Still you have the major thing out of the way - just got the anniversaries to do and as each passes it will feel a little easier.

My Mum died in 1986 and even now when I finish a good book I always think 'Mum would have loved that'. Dad passed in 1986 on the 13th of December (it was a Friday and he would have loved that one :rotfl:) After mum died dad always came on holiday with us. Still when we are sat on the beach we think of him along much the same lines.

It will get easier but it will also take time - give yourself time to heal and you will see things differently - eventually that is. (((HUGS)))

  • Just wanted to say hi and ask if I can join in. Joined SW last Saturday and really enjoyed it. First thing I've done solely for me in a long while. Had first weigh in today and 3.5lbs lost. 3 stone till I reach my goal. Do you think it's possible to reach that in 4 months or am I being unrealistic?

Hi Deejaie and welcome. Congrats on your first week loss!

I think it's a bit dangerous to set targets like that, myself, as if you start slipping it can really demotivate you. 3 stone in four months, while doable, is quite full on - it's an average loss of two to three pounds a week, which is slightly more than recommended on a heatlhy diet. Remember that you'll find it harder to lose as you get closer to goal, plus you have Christmas right in the middle of that.

If I were you I would set smaller, more doable goals (first stone off - how about seeing if you can acheive that by new year? You've already lost 3.5 pounds so only 10.5 to go..... and gives you a bit of leeway over CHristmas too. Is there something tha thappens in four months that you want to be ready for? If so, you should take heart in the idea that even if you're not exactly at goal, with a bit of effort and determination you'll be looking really good.
  • Afternoon gang. Having a really bad weekend so far, need to get back on track or it'll be my first gain this week. I know I'll care at weigh in, bit right now....

18 months ago neither would I - but I need 1llb off on Tuesday to get my 5 stone shiny! It just goes to show that if you keep plugging away you will get there!

Just made some sweet potato and butternut squash soup - i threw a couple of cloves of garlic in and a spoon of curry powder to give it some warming power! Just before i blitzed it I threw in a tin of haricot beans as well - they act as a thickener and it is lovely ( it's a very late lunch!)

    And its sin free too!!!!!!!!!!
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j

well really stuck was ill last week so didnt go weigh in im not sure weather to go tonight as im pretty sure ive put on again i just carnt get back into it what do you think? by the way ive payed untill xmas
It's not school! they can't tell you off for going up instead of down (in fact, from the consultants point of view it's better as one you get to target she gets no more money from you!) Look at it that way, and also for YOUR OWN SAKE, keep going to class, you can do it but it's not natural to lose lose lose every week (imo :rotfl: )
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Saidan, I haven't a clue. But on EE pasta is free, and you can ask for side salad without dressing, or with separate dressing so you know what you are adding, and the chain Italian I mostly use, Bella Pasta, has a good tomato and prawn dish that is a little oily but not too bad. Chicken is free too if you take off the skin. But I mean, you are going OUT TO EAT; if you are paying you have to give yourself a bit of leeway otherwise you'll go crazy! I think if you avoid the garlic bread (just don't order it) and puddings (just don't order them!) you could easily have a glass of vino with supper and still be more or less within limits.

oh and if they offer melon wrapped in ham as a starter, that's free on EE too, and is very nice :D
