I have just returned from my holiday and would like to rejoin you please as I have pledged to lose a stone by Christmas. I made my pledge in October but have managed to lose 0lbs since.

    Today
    banana
2 x poached egg and wholemeal bread.
    8 dried figs!!

Unfortunately dried figs are 2.5 syns each on all 3 plans:eek: Personally I would find better things to spend my syns on. If you snacked on fresh fruit, which is free, you could use your syns allowance on treats.

WI last night and lost 1.5 lbs. This takes me to 3.5lbs below target. Oops. I have until next week to put on that 0.5lb or go for another 7lbs (in effect only 3.5lbs) which would take me into the 8's. Ideally I didn't want to do this until after Xmas, so I might have to have a few 'naughties' to put that 0.5lb back on this week :D

Hope today hasn't been too horrendous for you TIE x

Rachel, I wouldn't have a few 'naughties' if I were you. If you feel you haven't put on weight to get back within your target just put your coat or a thick jumper. Christmas is coming up really fast and if you could stay slightly under target it will be useful for the festive goodies. x
  • Hello, I've not been on here for a while so it's taken a bit to catch up.

TIE Hope you're feeling a bit better after the funeral. Don't worry about the bank stuff, my son had the same thing happen but got it all back with very little bother.

MAGNOLIA Wow, well done you, great result.

Welcome to all newbies, stick with this plan - it really does work !!!

Well done all the losers and big hugs to those of you who - like me are struggling at the moment. xxxxx

Thank you all for your comments, as to the bank stuff we have been told it could take 6+ months before we see our money as its now out of the banks hands and in the polices as it seems to be an international fraud by a big gang. Will have to wait and see but of course in the mean time we are in dire straights. I feel my life is spiraling out of control and I'm finding it extremely difficult to cope.
I had been hacked via Halifaxs website before and they reimbursed me more or less straight away but that wasn't so bad as it wasn't our main account so didn't affect direct debits etc.

Sorry all I seem to do is bring doom and gloom to this forum.

On a brighter note MrsM is doing well and has been confirmed as 18 weeks preggers so thats a happy note to leave on :D
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

TIE i read back the whole thread, you are having a hard time. i too once had my card cloned, it took about 3 months for my money to be returned.

blackberry-rum thank you for your reply......i had:
a pasta bake dish with meatballs in - the menu said cooked with wine, but i asked for no wine. the side salad was dressing free :p
i did have a gelati (ice cream) scoop for pud - twas lovely
i don't drink so had a diet cola
the kids loved it, it was very slow service - over 2 hours, and the time with dh was worth every syn.

i went to the online diary, and it was 36 syns approx (used pizza express meal as guideline)......have used only up to 6 each day up to now so hopefully it will be ok for my first WI tomorrow :undecided

Hi Deejaie and welcome. Congrats on your first week loss!

I think it's a bit dangerous to set targets like that, myself, as if you start slipping it can really demotivate you. 3 stone in four months, while doable, is quite full on - it's an average loss of two to three pounds a week, which is slightly more than recommended on a heatlhy diet. Remember that you'll find it harder to lose as you get closer to goal, plus you have Christmas right in the middle of that.

If I were you I would set smaller, more doable goals (first stone off - how about seeing if you can acheive that by new year? You've already lost 3.5 pounds so only 10.5 to go..... and gives you a bit of leeway over CHristmas too. Is there something tha thappens in four months that you want to be ready for? If so, you should take heart in the idea that even if you're not exactly at goal, with a bit of effort and determination you'll be looking really good.

Thanks for your advice. It's my birthday in March so thought it was a good goal but I get demotivated easily so will take your advice and not set myself up for a fail.

Ooops, didn't see your post before I had a glass of wine. Will start again tomorrow and will be having no figs as probably had 25 syns.

TIE Hugs for you and your hubbie. You are really having to deal with such a lot at the moment.

Thanks for the news from Mrs M :)

Just wanted to say hi and ask if I can join in. Joined SW last Saturday and really enjoyed it. First thing I've done solely for me in a long while. Had first weigh in today and 3.5lbs lost. 3 stone till I reach my goal. Do you think it's possible to reach that in 4 months or am I being unrealistic?

hi, i started SW on 4th July, and at weigh in on 7th nov, the nearest one to 4 months, i got my 3 stone award,

i didnt plan it like that now, it was never a target of mine, i thought when i started i would b lucky to have 2 stone off for xmas,

i havent set a final target, and i tend to break it down to "sticker at a time! so i did half stone award, stone award, stone and half award, club ten, 2 stone....and so on...and thats the way i just continued...

i now hope to have my 3.5 stones award for xmas, so thats 5lbs more to loose in 5 weigh ins, anything more would be a bonus, but thats my current target,

i never would have thought it possible to loose 3 stone in 4 months, but that was just how it worked out for me,

i think smaller targets helps to keep you motivated,

good luck with it all, keep updating your losses :D
