    hi all

    can you help me?

i started SW recently - but due to a bowel disease i struggle to eat fruit, veg and salad.

after 4 weeks on the plan i was rushed into hospital with a bowel blockage and had major surgery.

i am 6 weeks post op - i am allowed 10g/day fibre, and still cannot eat fruit, veg or salad except the odd banana or potatoe mash. i see the dietician soon who will advise whether i can try normal diet again with 5 a day. (i like those foods so am looking forward to it)

is it possible to loose weight on sw with these restrictions? or should i save my money and wait till the dietician says i can eat normally again?

any advise appreciated..............am gonna read the whole thread now :rotfl:

  • Hi saidan

I'm by no means an expert, only been doing SW for 6 weeks now, but I think if you were to carry on with it then red days might be your best option? I just think that if veg and fruit are so restricted then extra easy and
Green would be nearly impossible. Maybe you could research red days a bit and see if they're suitable for you? To be honest, maybe even green days would work, I'm not entirely sure of the criteria :$ but I'm certain extra easy is out due to the 1/3 fruit&veg requirement

    Good luck!

I'm undecided on whether today will be red or extra easy. Had a Hi fi for breakfast (HEB). Have $ainsburys be good to yourself sausages for late breakfast which are 1/2 syn each so shall enjoy some of those later, possibly with mushrooms, toms and fried eggs.

Then for tea its a ready to roast Lamb thing I got from Mr T. There are some syns - and will report later when I have double checked the numbers. Will be serving this with roasted veg, parsnips, carrots, onions and butternut squash :j

I meant to say eric, that the lamb shank from Aldi's was 3 syns for the pack and I believe that's 2 shanks. I'm not sure whether you can split it before freezing?

Thanks kelk for the soup recipe. I don't have any pickled onions at the moment but will try it as soon as I can. I love Heinz tomato soup (with lashings of white pepper) so that should be great.

Brilliant magnolia, you're shrinking at an amazing rate!:T

Yesterday was superflexi for me.:o I went out for a posh afternoon tea and it was a SW nightmare: scones, jam. cream, cupcakes, sandwiches:eek: I think the only SW friendly thing was the tea itself. Then later ended up in Zizzi's with a lamb shank and veg but loads of garlic bread:eek:

Today I'm firmly back on the tank. At least for a day or two.

    EE day

B: NAS squash, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: tomato & cucumber sandwich, satsuma
D: roast chicken, SW roast pots and parsnips, cauli, carrots
Syns: gravy and wine with dinner

Well done on the loss mags :j

I have tried on my good black suit and the trousers fit like clowns. Can't believe how big they are considering they're a 12. The jacket was massive too but expected that as it's a 16. Luckily I have a different black jacket that does fit but no decent trousers and no pennies to buy any :o will manage with something though.

    Have a good Sunday all x x x

Well since posting earlier, my menu changed ! instead of having sausages for breakfast, I decided to make a casserole so I used up the mushrooms and also added chopped peppers, butternut squash, parsnips, two tins of curry beans, a tin of cherry toms. 3 cartons of tomatoes, carrots and lots of red onions. I have not long taken it out the oven and have portioned it up so once its cool, in the freezer it will go :j

Tea is still lamb and I am intending on serving this with roasted butternut squash, red onions, peppers, carrots and parsnips. Mmmmmmm

    Thanks, that's really helpful.

Though I do worry about my ability to have just one of those. :o
I agree - I'm not to be trusted, can't even buy boxes of Alpen Light.

Lots of hugs for you TIE, to get you through the next few days. It doesn't have to be black you know, what was your dad's favourite colour? I wore red to my mum's funeral as it was her favourite colour.

And LoBush, it's good to see you again
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
