We finally got the results of the PM and was as expected a heart attack. So tomorrow my sister and I will register the death and do all the other necessary bits. The funeral is arranged for Friday 18th November then all the faff of probate. Having a bit of trouble sorting the music for the funeral as Dad didn't really have a suitable favourite. He liked tv themes and funny stuff so we are having Murphy & the Bricks during the service which should bring a smile [look it up on youtube you'll see what I mean]. So far we're all hanging in there and my Boss has been brilliant and allowed me the week off [probably won't get paid so more worry there] but so not able to concentrate so would be useless at work.
Anyway enough waffle from me, good luck with sw all x x x
Take it easy, as your name says. Tough times indeed. I had a more lighthearted abba song at my mum's funeral last year as she loved them. One tip - don't pick something that you hear a lot as it will set you off every time.0 -
A good weigh in today - lost a pound, which is good for yet another week of bad moments (bonfire night), too much booze (er, bonfire night again!) and not enough exercise. So total loss of 3.5 pounds now. 14 to go.
Am feeling more comfortable with adapting recipes now; I get a bit fed up with the ones on the site as they seem a bit mundane sometimes. DH and I are both quite foodie (hence our weight!) and I like to experiment, but it feels like I can start that now I've got the system under my belt.0 -

Love anchovies! You could always put rosemary in instead, but not quite so rich and delicious...0

Hi everyone, had WI last night and have lost 6.5lb in the last two weeks, so now in the stone below and have lost over 4 stone:j.
Still a very long way to go but feeling good at the minute.
well done you.....your doing just great :A i am in awe of your great losses, week after week. you must be very good at eating your superspeeds, are you?0 -

Aww thank-you. I do try hard to eat at least a third of my food from super free, this might not necessarily be at every meal but I might have weetabix and a banana for something for breatfast, jacket with beans for lunch but will have at least half a plate of veg/salad for tea.
I don;t always make a third every meal but do over the day if that makes sense. I'm also findning eating more protein is helping. Especially at breakfast.
Protein keeps you feeling fuller for longer than carbs and I think this has been a definite problem for me in the past as I used to eat loads of carbs and fat but limited protein. I think a lot of overweight people tend to do this, but I definitly aren't as hungry when I've eaten more protein.0 -
Hi Everyone, I hope you don't mind if I join you
I started SW last week on Monday but on Tuesday I got a tummy bug & lost my appetite, so I was just eating what / when I could stomach it. Then on Thursday my appetite returned with a vegence, so that wasn't great. Basically I had a terrible first week! However, I still managed to lose a pound.
So I have started last night to go to the group that my flat mate goes to, which seems really good, so I am feeling very positive, despite the fact I am going out for dinner tonight and tomorrow night... Oh well! I just need to keep on track the rest of the time:A | -1lb | :A0 -

That's brilliant alm. I often average my SFs through the day too. It seems to work.:)Roast lamb shoulder. Easy and delicious, with leftovers to make a shepherd's pie. Cut slits in the meat and add garlic and anchovies (yes, really!). Makes it absolutely delicious. No syns on EE.
I adore shoulder sarah, it's my favourite cut but I avoided it for a year because it seemed almost impossible to 'remove all visible fat'. I had it last weekend as a 'target treat' and it was yummy. I did have stuffing too but I'm going to try the garlic and anchovy idea next time. DH adores anchovies and he's been such a sweetheart, I like to give him a few treats when I can. It's surpsrising (we had a conversation at my group about it today) how many people cook separate meals cos partners won't co-operate!
Welcome Louise, glad to have you join us. Do you and your flat mate share the cooking? That'll be great if you're both on SW.
WI for me today and 1.5lbs gained. That'll teach me to have too many 'target treats'. I'm still 0.5lbs under target but I need to be as I've a heavy week coming up. I've got 2 meals out and afternoon tea at a posh hotel on Saturday plus a lot of associated alcohol. I'm determined to enjoy myself so it will be a case of damage limitation on the days I cook at home.
My EE menu today:
B: NAS squash, HEB Puffed Wheat, HEA milk plus teas, banana
L: jar of cockles, pickled beetroot and smoked salmon (basically grazing on anything free I could find:o)paprika pork with veg and pasta
Syns: none
Snacks: unlikely but apples or small JP if I get desperate
The pork is a slow cooker recipe off the website. It's got leeks, mushrooms, carrots, tomatoes in and I added peppers. Smells OK, I'll report back on the taste later.0 -

Afternoon everyone. Weigh in this week was disappointing, only 0.5lb loss. Disappointed because I was 100% on plan this week, absolutely perfect! However, it is * week so I'm hoping that it'll come off next week instead.
Steak night tonightwith sweet potato chip and LOTS of veg
