Yes my mum does. She will lose nothing then 3lb the next week, then nothing then 2/3lb again. She's been doing it for weeks now and swears she's doing nothing different each week.

is she also at SW? funny...my own mum had 2 STS there in a row...followed by a 3lbs and then a 2.5 loss....and she does the same thing each week too....

btw.....GO YOU...:j:A..Look at the losses....how much in total now? do u have a target? (i dont...STILL cant think that far ahead :o)

While I am out of lurkdom, Maman, can you explain your bubble and squeak method if you don't mind?

I just love bubble & squeak. It's tasty, full of SFs, makes me feel very frugal and saves my HEB for another meal.

I don't have any special recipe, very similar to b-r in fact. I use any LO veg but I think it's best when mash and cabbage are in there. I generally put all the LOs in the saucepan I've done the mash in when I'm clearing up after supper. I give it a good stir/mash, season and then put it in a dish in the fridge ready for lunch. I just use fry-light in the frying pan to brown mine and serve with cold meat (if I have any) and pickled beetroot. I also sprinkle liberally with Worcestershire sauce or occasionally a bit of tabasco or a sprinkle of dried thyme. Sometimes I soften a chopped onion in the micro and stir that in too.

I read a recipe the other day where they suggested binding the mixture with an egg and frying some chopped bacon & spring onions in the pan before adding the veg. I'm going to try that soon, sounds delish.

thanks so much....maybe i am going to have a pattern of smallish loss...biggish loss,...? anyone else get this ?

I'm a great believer in things balancing out, usually over 2 weeks in my case. This applies to 'bad' weeks when I rarely gain much immediately but also if you've been 'good' that will catch up with you too. Hopefully next week! Don't be discouraged piglet. It took me about 10 months to lose 3st 3lbs, compared to that you're doing brilliantly!!!

    My EE menu today:
B: NAS squash, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas, apple
L: Bubble & squeak (AGAIN!!), pickled beetroot
D: chicken casserole with loads of SF veg, butterbeans, SW roasties
Snack: Marmite on toast with cucumber slices
Syns: tbsp of cornflour in casserole (shared with DH)

Piglet, I always think that when you have a biggish lossyour body takes time to adjust - almost like it's catching up with itself and settling down, before it can lose a bit more. Also sometimes with my big losses they are slightly 'false' - perhaps I drank lots of booze the night before and am a bit dehydrated, and ate early that evening, so it's been ages without food, etc etc... so on top of a moderate loss I get a little bit more too. Then that 'false' loss takes a bit longer to 'really' lose the following week, but meanwhile you get on the scales and think, argh, I've hardly lost anything.

Does that make any sense? :)

Do you know Sarah that DOES make sense to me and I am really worried now (LOL) XXX

Yes she does SW with me, it's really odd lol. I couldn't go last week so didn't weigh in but am fairly confident I will make it 4 stone tomorrow night. It's good but tbh I still have a very long way to go. I don't have a target, I'm just happy as long as I keep going down.

    Hi all

    Can I join in please?

Got to target at SW (10 st) in Feb 2010 and have gradually managed to put on nearly a stone
(10 13lb) since then :o I also stopped going to the classes to save money convinced I could go it alone!! I would love to get down to 9st 12lb eventually but looking to lose about half a stone before Christmas if possible. Haven't been great today so if it's ok I will post a menu plan tomorrow. I know I don't follow the SW rules at present and have reintroduced bread and butter into my diet!! I do try to walk a lot for exercise but not as much as I used to.

I have been lurking on your old threads for a while but didn't have the courage to join in :(

Actually I think it's the pay off as much as you can in 2011 challenge. But never mind that. Pull up a pew!
