After all the support messages that came from you all last week I'm well and truly back into the SW frame of mind and think I've done really well so far - I usually weigh myself on Fridays and I've been dreading it lately but this week I'm actually looking forward to it :)

I put together a meal plan so know exactly what I'm going to cook each day AND I even made some vegetable soup (the first time I've ever made soup!) I've portioned it out and frozen it ready for my lunches.

I'm a bit confused about my HEB - a lot of the cereals say 28g plus a Ryvita or something similar but some say 42g of cereal. Does anyone know how many grams of Shreddies I'd get?

    Thanks
    Tracey

The website says one HEB is 28g nestle shreddies (honey or plain) and one ryvita whole grain CB - which i assume means cracker bread. The added ryvita - if i understand correctly - is usually to make the fibre conten up to a full HEB portion.

    So 28g and a ryvita :)

I LOVE lamb but its something I rarely cook/eat because its not something my OH enjoys.

I quite often buy Mr T SimplY Cook Lamb shanks which are free on Extra easy/red but I can only seem to get these on home delivery.

I wondered if anyone could offer any other suggestions of what lamb items I could try? In particular, I have seen in M&$ that you can buy ready to roast meats where you simply remove packaging and place in oven :j but I couldn't find these on SW online site. I'm after interesting lamb dishes that don't break the bank in syn terms (and purse wise :rotfl:) but are likewise dead easy to cook and require no faffing in the kitchen.
  • Evening, welcome to all nubies and congratulations to all you lovely losers!!!!!

I lost a measly 1/2lb tonight. I am seriously considering taking my consultant's advice and highering my target. I don't really want to but I'm just completely stuck at the moment. The trouble is I loved being able to say I had lost 3 stone and 2 stone something just doesn't have the same ring. While I've been typing this I have made up my mind to see how I go up until Christmas (sorry to mention the C word!) then see after that. x

Aldi's do a lamb shank ready meal that's 3.5 syns which isn't bad and should be fairly inexpensive. If you want to cook yourself then I love lamb cooked on a bed of root veg. I do it for shanks or a half leg but if it's just for you steaks would be good too. I do chopped parsnips, carrots and leeks in beef stock with some thyme and seasoning then put the browned meat on top and cook in the oven for as long as it takes :o It's great with roasties and greens.

Thanks for the recipe ideas zippy. I didn't realise bubble squeak was regional, it's a Boxing Day staple here. Personally I cook it like a tortilla but lots of posh restaurants do it as patties.

Try not to be downhearted confused at least you lost this week. Like you I've lost just over 3 st and I'd be devastated if I went back into the twos.

WI for me tomorrow. I'm expecting a gain as I had lots of treats last weekend but I've been really good since Sunday so hopefully not too bad.

Evening all, welcome newbies and well done losers, all losers even the small ones ;)

We finally got the results of the PM and was as expected a heart attack. So tomorrow my sister and I will register the death and do all the other necessary bits. The funeral is arranged for Friday 18th November then all the faff of probate. Having a bit of trouble sorting the music for the funeral as Dad didn't really have a suitable favourite. He liked tv themes and funny stuff so we are having Murphy & the Bricks during the service which should bring a smile [look it up on youtube you'll see what I mean :D]. So far we're all hanging in there and my Boss has been brilliant and allowed me the week off [probably won't get paid so more worry there] but so not able to concentrate so would be useless at work.
Anyway enough waffle from me, good luck with sw all x x x
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

  • Thanks TAKE IT EASY I am definitely NOT going to alter my target yet. As I said I will have another think after Christmas. x

    Menu for today (EE)

B Bacon, potato waffle (3 syns?), tomatoes
    S Apple & FF activia
L Banana on wm toast (HEB + 4 syns)
D Prawn open sandwich (2 slices of wheaten bread & hm marie rose sauce made with LF mayo.

Unfortunately I am still using up food in my fridge and freezer that I cannot afford to throw out so these are not strictly SW meals but I will be better organised next week.

Good luck to anyone with WI in today.
    Payment A Day £15 (started 17/5/14) :j

Roast lamb shoulder. Easy and delicious, with leftovers to make a shepherd's pie. Cut slits in the meat and add garlic and anchovies (yes, really!). Makes it absolutely delicious. No syns on EE.
