    Hi everyone,
Can I join? I've been going to slimming world now for 14 weeks. I've lost 14lbs after a lot of faffing- I seem to get to the point where everyone compliments me on weight loss and then I start cheating as though I've reached target (I haven't... I've still got 37lbs to go) which is really stupid. It would be nice to get inspiration from other members and plan followers to keep me on the straight and narrow!

I've set an ambitious target to lose 2lbs a week for the next 5 weeks- If I manage to do it I'll be at my lowest weight since 2001 just in time for my work Christmas party.

Mrshaz- do you like soup? I've just made a vat of pea and ham soup, free on extra easy for about £2.00 (using stock cupboard essentials as well). It'd easy serve 4 people/ freeze for dinners in work if you'd like the recipe? I've got it from the new soup book- it's honestly the nicest soup I've ever made. :)

Have a good day tomorrow everyone! :)

Please can you post the recipe? I'd like it, sounds lush!

    hello again

thank you for the hints. could i please have that ham and pea recipe please :)

i woke up this morning at 6.30 completly forgetting that i was 'doing' slimming world so had 2 shredded wheat with milk (not sure how much but i'm sure its was less than the 250ml) and a squeeze of honey, and a cuppa tea with 3 sugar cubes. i guess in the grand scheme of things its ot a prblem i just wok it out, im lazy thugh lol.

i'm hoping that the 3 - 4 hours of walking i have started doing 5 days a week will help!

does anyone have any good slimming world recipes that can be done in the slow cooker, preferably without any pre cooking, because i dont get in frm the school run until nearly 5 i want stuff that will be ready or nearly ready when we get in lol.

    starting weight 14st 11lb.

on my way to winnig $1000 :)

Hi Maman, thanks for the response. I forgot to put milk as my a choice, but yes I will have salad with my omelette. I think for me the hard bit is getting used to having bigger meals and full plates as I have spent years trying to eat miniscule amounts and then crashing off the wagon in a big way.
Anway off to make lunch. I will report back later. I know the toughest time for me is the evening which is why I have planned some chocolate for then, but I think I am expecting to feel hungry when maybe I won't??
    Bye for now

There's a feature on slow cooking on the SW website at the moment. Not hugely inspiring but I think the pork dish looks good. I find most usual slow cooker recipes can be easily adapted as they're usually meat, veg, stock and herbs.

Had weigh in tonight and put on half a pound. I was expecting a gain and wouldn't have been surprised if it had been 2 or 3 pounds. I'm now only a pound away from where I started my SW journey. Its funny how easy the pounds creep on .....

Anyway. Its a new week. I have my clipboard and my meal plan sheet all prepared - I just need to fill in the boxes with SW friendly food and stick to it oh and watch those syns !

In other news - and further to my comment about self sabotage, I thought I would tell you about my joker day. This is usually the day following weigh in when I'm sat at my desk at work craving a chocolate bar. A typical chocolate bar of choice is high in syns so I don't count it and class it as my joker moment. I don't do it more than once a week but it means I can have a treat but feel like I am staying in control. Once I have too many syns in any one day, I typically go off the rails and munch munch munch so classing the chocolate bar as my joker moment means I have can my treat but not write off the day :T
  • Hey guys
wondering if anyone can help me see where I'm going wrong on EE (or if I'm just impatient for results!)
Lost 5lb over the first 2 weeks but no more in the last 2 weeks :(
Have been having the healthy extras but almost no syns at all as there seems to be so much available to eat which is syn free.
I am eating lots of food but it is healthy stuff.
Really hope this diet will work for me as usually when I diet I'm always hungry! I've got under a stone to lose so any ideas would be very much appreciated x x x

Hi there, first and foremost USE YOUR SYNS [thats what they're there for] you don't have to have extra food i.e. chocolate, crisps etc just add to your meals with things like sauces, oils etc. Also post a typical EE food diary so we can see if you're going wrong at all or maybe just suggest things to add for syns.
I know the nearer to target you get the harder it is to lose but it can be done. HTHS :A
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Well I've been a bit cheeky today, even though it's not my WI day until tomorrow I weighed myself because I was a bit worried about my week. I've had two days this week where I've just flexibly synned and had too much wine/chocolate/food. However the rest of the week I've been good and stuck to between 10-15 syns. And I've lost 1lb so I'm really pleased with that - I've only 10 more to go so I'm not expecting to lose more than a lb a week.

sjaycee - you really should use your syns. Sometimes you need something a bit higher in fat to help your diet along. If you take in the same calories/food day in day out your body gets comfortable and stabilises. You need to vary things a bit and maybe have a red or green day every now and again.

    Plan for today:

    Green Day

B: Slice of HM rye bread (1xHEB) with butter (2syns), cup of tea (Milk=1xHEA)
L: HM Cauliflower & Leek soup (1syn), slice of HM rye bread (1xHEB) with butter (2syns)
D: Rice dish of some sort with peas
Snacks: fruit, carrot sticks, ML yoghurts (getting a bit sick of these and realised I'm not mad keen on low fat yoghurt anyway! Much prefer the full fat stuff so will have it as occasional treat)

Will probably have a biscuit or something to up my sins. My running club night tonight but I'll have to take it easy as still recovering from cold.
