Hollypop and Cord123. Hello and welcome. There are lots of help on this thread and you will get many ideas for meals and snacks. On the first page of this thread there is a great description of SW by Consultant31 and also a link to the recipe page. I find those recipes much easier to follow than the ones in the mags. Keep asking questions, questions help everyone even those (like me) who have been following SW for some time. I seem to be taking the scenic route!!

Flying visit, had my weigh in tonight and miraculously lost enough to get my 1 stone award after four weeks :j:j:j:j:j
To be honest it's *slightly* cheaty as I've been ill this week so really haven't eaten that much. I'll take it as a victory tho, cos previously I'd have just eaten crap:D

Hi Ladies, I am trying to decide wether this or slim fast will be best for me.... My husband works with some girls that have lost lots of weight doing SW. I am just worried at how hard it is to follow.... i dont like milk or cereal so what would i have for breakfast for example?
I am so desperate to lose 3 stone it is unreal! :-( xx
i would defo say go for SW....slim fast only works short term...i lost 10lb in 3 weeks on it once...but it soon piled straight back on...:o:mad: with plenty more
i am at SW 15 weeks now....and have lost 2 stone 10.5lbs :j
if i can do it...anyone can...honestly...:)0 -
Weigh-in for me today and I stayed the same
However, it's my own fault, I'm working in the evenings and looking after my boys during the day so I've no time to just sit down and plan my days. I have been following the extra easy but somehow ignored the 1/3 superfree food rule:o.....
I will try and do better this week. I think the double whammy of only having 10lbs to lose and it being a star week means I have to concentrate more!O/S Weight Loss 1.75/80 -
MOrning all. Lost half a pound this week which is fine as I had three days slightly off-plan (we had friends staying who are really big eaters and drinkers). So a slow start for me overall but I'm hoping for a big loss this week. Got a weekend at my Dad's but I think I can fairly much stick to plan while there.0

Here is my menu for today :j
GREEN DAY
Breakfast
Hi fi bar (6 syns/HEB - see note below)
few grapes
mid morning snack
two peppers sliced up
Lunch:
Innocent Veg pot Mexican Chilli
6.5 syns
2 slices of HEB friendly bread (HEB)
28g cheddar (HEA)
Tea is SW chips, eggs and possilby ham (HEB). I have already had my two HEB options for today (Hi fi bar at breakfast and bread at lunch) but I very cleverly picked up ham today that needs to be used by Friday 28th
I'm thinking of synning the hi fi bar and having 85g ham instead
Syns for today will therefore be 12.5 which is higher than I would like but hopefully the syn values will even out.
Honeypop - I will answer your post later when I have more time (this evening I hope). Can I ask - do you mostly like pasta/rice/potatoes or are you a steak/chicken/pork kind of person??
I thought I would update you on my menu yesterday because my evening meal went a bit pear shaped.....
I had the bright idea to make my SW chips using a mandolin vegetable slicer. Even typing the words is making my fingers twitch.... I bought it a few years ago thinking it was a "must have" gadget and I have used it twice ? I was in a rush to get the chips sliced and as I couldn't remember how to attach one of the bits, I was haphazardly slicing the potatoes and managed to cut my fingerSo I gave up on that idea and got the oven chips out of the freezer ! :rotfl: so yesterday's tea ended up being unmeasured ham, 3 fried eggs (fry light of course :j) and oven chips. The chips I made were horrid and went in the bin - they didn't crisp up one bit

Yes it is very quiet on here. I hope all are well. Hugs :grouphug:
Here is my menu for today. Another GREEN day
Breakfast was : Hi fi bar (HEB) and grapes
Mid morning snack was: Cucumber sticks and carrot sticks
Second mid morning snack was 28g cheddar
Lunch was another veg pot - a new one - not on the syn list on the sw site but less calories than yesterday so estimating at no more than 6.5 syns.
afternoon snack was treat size maltesers - 4 syns
Home and its a very quick early tea of 2 jacket spuds (total weight 220g) and 2 slices of ham (HEB) not measured but shared with the cat
I've just munched some treatsize buttons - so another 4 syns....
I shall be heading out for a run shortly and will more than likely have something else to eat when I get in from that. I don't know what yet but I am feeling fed up and suspect the oven chips will magic their way into the oven from the freezer again:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I said in a post earlier in the week that I would keep a food diary and I am keeping to that promise. I feel it is only fair that I am honest. It would be very easy to pretend that I had SW chips last night and not oven chips and very very easy to forget about the chocolate I have munched today. Where would that get me though ? I would be lying to myself and all of you!
I am glad its Friday tomorrow. I need to write out a plan that I can stick to like glue which should not only help my slimming campaign but also my food budget :T
I SHOULD ALSO ADD that although I don't mention anything about drinks - I do drink tea and use one of my A options for milk. I don't drink a lot of tea though but do drink water and diet fizzy pop.

I'm still here - 43 weeks now and errrrrrrrrrrr ............. 74lbs I think - better check
Nope - lying again - its 72lbs :j Only 7lbs to first target and hopefully I will make that before the end of November then it will be a review of the situation and make a new target. Might try for another 26lbs and then I will be at my lowest for a good few years
I have not been perfect over the weeks. I have had 3 holidays and a couple of weekends away - all of them leading to a gain
The trick is to not beat yourself up if you do - just review just how many trotters you have had in trough and move on.
Its not the end of the world if you have a teensy little gain (none of mine were that teensy but, in my defence, a week long hogfest is sure to bite you on the bum) Its what you do about it for the next week or so. Just get back on the wagon and hang on tightly and things will soon equal out.
You never know - with the right mindset you just could succeedMags - who loves shopping0 -
Oh and its 41 weeks not 43 :cool:Mags - who loves shopping0

Hello all, I lost one pound this week, that's clawing back some of the 2.5 lbs I put on over the past few weeks
all my own fault, as someone said up there, with not much to go it does get more difficult, I think we get easygoing about it, and why not after weeks months years of watching what we eat!?!?!?
Holly, is it worth you getting in some frozen fruit, either Sainos or Tesco regularly have them on 3-for-2 offers. Frozen raspberries are gorgeous, also mango if you can get it. Sometimes I defrost a bit of frozen, mix with some fresh fruit (pineapple or melon if poss at this time of year) and some all bran and a Muller Light and I can rarely manage to eat it all at breakfast and have to take it into work and finish it around 9 o'clock! I just think if you tried one or two of the other fruits you might find you like them. I thought I didn't like grapefruit until I won one at SW and had to eat it. Yummy! Anyway, chin up, you'll get your head around it and I'm sure you'll find more foods you enjoy. Just DON'T BE HUNGRY!
WHo else asked about breakfast, it definitely doesn't have to be cereal. Cooked breakfast with tomato, mushroom, vegetarian sausage (minimal syns), defatted bacon, an egg? Mushroom omelette? Boiled eggs? Kippers? Smoked salmon and scrambled egg? With some of these you'd have to have an apple or pear or something afterwards to make up the 1/3 superfree, but still a good breakfast.
Hello to Mags and Maman and TIE!!:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!
