Ok there was a cadbury caramel bar during the day too, but honestly I weighed it against an apple and it was much less :rotfl:

However, the word muller light keeps popping up and it is seriously depressing me. It just SO says SW to me and I can't stand the things. I love yoghourt, fromage frais, creme freche etc I just think Muller light are the most awful slippery, slimey, artificially sweet things ever put into a pot. :(

    Anybody suggest an alternative please?

I'm not a yogurt fan at all so I just don't have it. I just occasionally have Total 0% on fruit and that's it. You can do SW without eating yogurt no problem. Are you asking if there are other yogurts you can eat?

Cherry, I do start the day with a cold drink but I've never heard of it being helpful. I do it as I often feel a bit dehydrated in the mornings. When I started SW I substituted my large glass of juice for a 250ml glass of NAS squash. Generally it's Ribena but I have had the pink grapefruit one (Robinsons?). Ideally I'd like something less sweet.

Oh and Idris, you're very welcome to post your menu and do ask if you want comments.

WI for me tomorrow. I was considering not going (after wedding etc. last weekend) but I'm away next week for half term and I don't want to lose the habit. I may have gained a bit but should still be [STRIKE]well[/STRIKE] in target range.

Puree some fruit and add to natural yog? I've never understood why there isn't a natural range of yogurts that is just that, anyway. They dont need sugar or sweetener if you put enough fruit in.

Re different varieties of yoghurts, I generally get a selection from Onken fat free (450g tubs), Asda own fat free (I love the prune one, but there's no accounting for tastes), and Asda have recently started stocking an Irish brand called Diet Yoghurts, which don't have added sugar as Muller Lights do. Think Morrisons do them too. They all are around £1 for 4.

    And Congratulations Mrs M. That's amazing news.:T

Hmmm. FIrst weigh in, only 1.5 pounds lost. Disappointing, but I think the first couple of days I screwed up by going over syns as I was getting used to the system, and yesterday I was on a press trip all day that involved cheese tasting, so I probably went over my syns there too! Never mind. Onwards.

How did your weigh in go WBB?

Just had an apple and a banana to kick start my (lazy) day. I really want some bacon (I swear I'm addicted) and am quite loving eggs at the mo. I'm going to go for it I think - all free so why not!
I'm also going to dust off the Wii Fit instead of sitting here watching Jeremy Bloody Kyle!
( in my defence I take horrible drugs for my Crohns on a weds and have no choice but to do nothing thurs morning as I feel so crappy!)
Taking the kids swimming after school so while the boys have their lesson I will shove littlest on my back and try to do a few lengths! Need to get back into my exercise as it feels so good when I'm at it but it's so easy to let it slip and ger a mental block

    Morning all!
Sarahs999 - well done on your loss! That's great - I know you probably wanted more but to be honest you're down to the last few pounds and your body fights it more at this stage so it'll be smaller steps (but at least it's downwards :-) ). Best of luck on trying for baby no. 2 - my friend went to that Chinese lady you were talking about after 2 failed IVF attempts. Worked for her!
It's very stressful - but at least you know you're capable of having a baby, just your body is being very fussy about which one to keep hold of.

My WI day today as well - I lost 2lbs. I was a bit worried because I went over my syns on three of the days so I'm delighted. I think the exercise helped. I'm pretty fit but just couldn't shift the weight - I really do need to combine a good diet with the exercise. Have to get out of the mentality where I go on 6/7 mile runs and then come home and feel entitled to stuff my face with crisps and wine........

Thanks Mrs M for the bread tip. It's funny I did exactly the same thing as Blackberry-rum nearly did, I was telling my husband about your news yesterday. He looked bewildered and asked if it was one of the mums at our sons' school or someone at work or something? It then occurred to me that I've never met you and yet here's me saying how delighted I was about it!

Today for my EE day I'll be mostly eating:

B: Shredded wheat (HEB with HEA=250mls SS Milk)
L: HM Miso soup with mushrooms, shredded cabbage and rice noodles (1.5 syns)
D: Noodles with stir-fried veggies and egg (free)
Snacks: Fruit, Muller Lights, carrot sticks

Not sure what I'll use my syns for yet - might try and save them up for the weekend and some wine!

  • Hi Guys

I was wondering if you could help me. im thinking about joining SW but im trying to get my head around it before i join. im used to WW so its confusing me abit lol.

On EE for breakfasts i've noticed from some of the meal plans on here that the 1/3 fruit/veg isn't listed. Is this possible???

If i was to have weetabix with a banana would that be classed as a 1/3 or would i need even more fruit. As you probably guessed im not a huge fan of fruit lol

While I'd never advocate cheating for anyone who wants to follow SW to the letter (I'm sure that's the optimum way) I saved most of my syns for weekend wine the whole time I was working to target. That's my favourite treat, much preferred to choclate or crisps or anything but each to his (or her) own. I worked on the premiss that I had various things I could tighten up on if I ever hit a plateau (spreading syns more evenly, measuring milk/cereal exactly, trying different plans etc).

WI for me today and I put on 1.5lbs.:( It was to be expected as I had a very flexi 4 day weekend. This week will be just as bad (off to Normandy for a few days) but I'll miss next week's WI and hopefully will be back on track by two weeks time.

Today's EE (well the good bit;))
B: NAS squash, HEB Puffed Wheat, banana, HEA milk plus teas
L: HM lentil soup, bubble & squeak with pickled beetroot

I'm out for dinner and have no idea what might be available.

    Have a good day all.

Hi jay. I think you'd be OK with the Weetabix and banana but I wouldn't have it every day as bananas are not the best fruit to have to excess. I sometimes have breakfast without a third SF (like beans on toast) but make it up across a day's food or have a mid-morning snack to compensate. So on the days I'm having a massive stir-fry for dinner (about 60% SF) I don't worry overmuch. On other days I might snack on a banana or a couple of clementines or a bowl of berries later in the day to keep the balance up.

I suppose it is tweaking but it has worked for me.
