Good luck Karen and welcome in, you've made the right choice. Worked for me :D
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Heartbroken 12.12.13
  • I've lost 1.5 this week :) and got my 1 stone sticker. (Where do you get your nice stickers from?) This was much better than I expected. I'm doing it slowly probably because I cheat too much. ;) However this has the advantage in that I know that I'll be able to maintain this way of eating once I've got down to my target weight. I've been able to eat cake - just not as much as previously, have takeaways occassionally but be more careful about my choices. I'm not dreading the appearance of the sweetie tin at work in the run up to Christmas as I reckon I'll be able to restrain myself rather than dipping into it every time I pass it. I'm sure I'll figure out how to manage the odd mince pie as well.

I'm hoping to lose another stone before Christmas so will see if my strategy works!!!
I need to make a new list for 2014
think of something to put on it!:rotfl:
Try harder for 2014 as I never managed it in 2012 or 2013

I don't starve myself - but we joke that it's not the syns that count in wi day, but how heavy the food is ;). I do try to stick to the same kind of meal on wi day so I know that is not affecting my weight.

If you are always weighed at night then that is when you should weigh at home. Overnight you will lose a couple of pounds so you will always be your lightest then. If you drop below a certain weight in the morning you will be disheartened when you weigh more at wi. I do weigh myself in the morning, but I compare morning weight to morning weight as an indicator of weight loss, I don't expect to weigh that at wi.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I don't starve myself on WI day but I don't go mad. I have a really good breakfast and a very light lunch. I WI at 5.30 so I'm really ready for my dinner when I get back around 7. x

I'm lucky in that my WI is first thing in the morning. I always have the same light breakfast and try to wear similar clothes. Friends in my group used to laugh that I wore the same old pair of trousers for months until they were falling off me!:D I always take off my shoes and cardy before weighing too so I've controlled most variables.

Others in my group have no breakfast and make sure they go for a quick wee before WI. When we get to the 'happy clappy' bit, loads of people are tucking into fruit, yogurt, cereal bars, coffees etc

I do understand how you feel otm. We all want a good loss but you have to think of it as a continuum. It's not really just about WI day (it just feels like it!).:)

To answer your question: I wouldn't starve yourself but have lightish meals and try to have an easy dinner planned for after WI when you get home. Loads of people seem to go to WI then have a quick binge before starting again next day.
  • Hi all, welcome newbies, it seems like yesterday I too was a newbie and found the whole thing a little daunting, all I can say is stick with this, you will soon know what your doing and the weight will fall off, I never expected to lose and maintain so well, I couldn't be more happier, I only wish I had started it years ago.

I weighed in this morning and I lost another 2 lb, I was trying so hard to maintain at 10st8, and I am 10st 2, I keep fluctuating with 2lbs, from 10.2 to 10.4, this week I have eaten chippy chips and a lasagne from weatherspoons and 2 extra nights of drinking thinking that would keep me stable, but i lose, its as if my metobolism has changed.

The only thing bad about losing this weight is I miss my boobs sooo much, but its the price you have to pay lol xx

I've decided to take the easy way and just follow one of the pre-planned 'trial' weeks in the magazine -at least that is pretty foolproof and should definately work. I'm finding it quite difficult to get motivated to do anything at the moment so if my eating is easy that helps,
