WI in a bit. Can't see me continuing the success of the past two weeks. Not that I feel I've eaten loads of bad stuff, I'm still only drinking water and no crisps, cakes, biscuits, sweets, chocolate, chips, etc... have passed my lips (other than three jaffa cakes). I've had a real battle of wills with myself this weekend because I've been constantly hungry. I think I'm going to have to go back to week 1 and write each and every thing down and stick more rigidly to the plan. At the moment though I'm feeling like I just want to be fat and happy and eat what I like. Except I'm not happy like that am I? :o

So far today I've had 28g honey nut shreddies with Skimmed milk, a banana and (I know it's wrong) two slices of wholemeal nimble toast with a scrape of clover when I got in from picking the kiddies up from school. I think DH is making SW chicken and potato curry for tea so at least I've got that to look forward to.

Will post later how I got on.

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

I've been eating better for a week. And I do find I am STARVING after 6pm to around 2 am (if i'm still awake sleeping is rubbish)
But i have cut all bread out.
it's so difficult. But the weird thing is all i have had today is a bowl of oatabix and i'm not hungry at almost 5pm
so strange. oh and i've been drinking alot of water i find that keeping a volvic liter bottle next to helps me know exactly what i have drank
gym starts tomorrow i guess hunger will get more controllable and more 'normal'
but if ur still drinking any fizzy drinks stop and if you can cut out the bread and replace it with salad and cottage cheese or oats and some peanut butter
just these two things have made me less bloated
    good luck
  • Blackberry - Ooh that hat sounds interesting! Can you send me a link please? Thanks :A. Originally my Dr said there was nothing they could do, when I went back 2nd time after being sent home from work cos I fell over as I was so dizzy they gave me Stemil tablets, but they spaced me out so much. Third time was told still nothing, fourth time i pushed and got an ENT referral but the waiting list is 6mths so I wouldn't have been seen til Jan/Feb!! I came upon a specialist in Bronglais hospital who agreed to see me privately, and I had appt within a week!

On the SW front, I had HM curry instead of lasagne so that's 7syns making 11 in total

    Hi everyone,

I tend to use my syns on alcohol - probably 2 drinks per day (god that sounds awful!).

I was wondering if anyone knows of anything "different" I can have that would contain no alcohol/syns? I like to have a drink early evening - its a habit that I need to break so I thought perhaps switching to a soft drink would be a good start!

    Thanks in advance.
I still have a glass of wine about twice a week (I have a fancy cork thing for the bottle :D ) but I marked on my favourite glass where 175ml comes to and I don't go higher than that, sometimes it's lower. Other times I might have a measure of vodka or rum in diet coke, with ice and a slice of lime. But as someone else said, without the vodka it still tastes more or less the same so you can save the syns (brilliant idea of rubbing your fingers soaked in vodka round the rim - I assume you give them a good sucking afterwards? :rotfl:)

How do you lot manage if you buy (for instance) a pack of meringue nests to use as syns? Am I the only one who can't resist knowing they are there? Honestly I have to ban myself from buying anything that there's more than one of cos I will just eat it.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Well, as I thought, half a lb on :(. So disappointed. Never mind though, onward and upward. Back to writing everything down, that worked for me at the start. I'm sure those two pieces of toast this afternoon didn't help. I've been so good, resisting all temptation, I've even stuck to just drinking water which I hate, but I've done it. My friend lost a lb and a half this week and she'd gone out for a meal and had a breakfast out.

    Must try harder!!

I have come to the conclusion that despite my best intentions my willpower is non existent. My weakness as daft as it sounds is oven chips. (why this is i can't answer because SW chips are so tasty!!) I stopped buying oven chips in my SW heyday and never (well extremely rarely) had them when I had a pub lunch (which is usually a weekly occurance at a chain pub j d etc...)

I got to target and got complacent and old (bad) habits have crept back in.

I could get away with the odd bad day or bad weekend back when I was a stone and a half lighter than I am now but there is no hiding from the fact that my clothes don't fit me anymore and I feel unfit/fat and unhealthy. I feed my face with rubbish and as a punishment feed my face with more rubbish ? wheres the logic in that ?

I know SW inside out but its whats going on in my head that scuppers my plans.

This hasn't really answered your question - I have just waffled but for my part I will say that I realise that i need to adopt the syn curfew that someone mentioned on here because once I have started on the syns (as early as 10am sometimes with a treat size choc bar) then I seem to lose the plot. I need to plan my syns in fact. I do walk past the cakes and other naughty bits in the supermarket and avoid but in recent times have fallen foul of buying something naughty (belgian bun from the bakery case in point - 17 syns) only to eat it and wonder why I craved it so much in the first place ?

My only consolation is that once I can lose the 3 or 4 pounds to get me under the stone level I am at currently then my motivation will be back and I will be well on my way and that I will be stronger for having got to target and having got almost back to where I started.

I know that when I get in from work and I'm tired and grumpy then I'm going to head for the freezer and the oven chips or the chocolate stash so the simple answer is not to buy it in the first place.

  • Evening all, thanks everyone for your thoughts re our loss. Still waiting on the post mortum then we can have the funeral. Am dreading that as will bring back my own loss but must be strong for my nephew and his partner.

    Back to sw:
    B - weetabix hot water/milk [.5 a] coffee
Snack - satsuma [sour, drew my ar*e up to my elbow :rotfl:]
L - mugshot, new pots, toms, fruit salad, activia, p/white [2.5]
    Snack - lo savoury rice
T - stir fry veg [whole pack ], pasta, tom sauce with extra onion, mushroom in.
    Syns - 2.5

First day with all 30 receptions staying all day, am completely knackered as haven't been sleeping well for weeks now :(. Doesn't help that hubby bought these silky satin sheets and all night I feel the flaming quilt slipping off the bed and its driving me mad. Switching to my trusty cotton bottom sheet & pillow case tonight but q/cover will have to stay as new quilt is a superking and my trusty cotton cover is only king size so its that or nowt [prefering nowt just so I get some sleep at moment :p]
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

  • Good morning all

Takeiteazy - hope you managed to sleep better last night. I can't get on with silky sheets myself - got to have cotton ones!

Yesterday went well so feeling really positive today. I've reserved a couple of slimming world cookbooks at the library and apparently they've arrived so will have fun looking through them tonight :-)

    Todays menu:

    B: 2 egg omelette
L: Brown roll (HEXB) and homemade veg soup
D: chicken chow mein stir fry (5 syns i think)
    Snacks: Banana, pear, apple.
Drinks: lots of water, coffee (HEXA)

No SF with breakfast but making up for that with fruit during the morning.

    Miss P
    xx

a friend is switching her class, so ill have someone ot go with next week
sometimes find it hard as i live at home with the parents so im not always responsible for food shopping/cooking so is sometimes hardto make the right choices - even if i try to tell them what i want! theres always rubbish food in the house so gets tempting but im hoping slimming world can helop with this

was having a look on the memebers bit of the website and found a nice article on the harvester and what to eat there ... perfect timing as im off there tonight!!

hoping for a really good week n to loose weight for the last time :D
  • Hi everyone,

Im loving this thread and its helping me to know there are other people struggling too.

Following on from my alcohol advice yesterday, I am pleased to say that I had a diet coke last night and really didn't miss not having wine! Not sure I will be saying that every day but its a start.

I have brought my lunch with me today - rice and quorn sausages, fruit, yoghurt - not sure what to have for dinner but will think about it. I have lots of veg in so something with that!

    Thanks again for your advice.
