    Morning all,

I lost 2lbs last night at WI, which is a lot for me! I wonder if setting that interim target has helped psychologically? Only 4lbs to go to get to it and if I get within 3lbs of it then I don't pay - MSE or what?!

Does anyone know what happened to Mrs M? I miss her.

Well done on the loss :T:T
Mrs M is in the mist of packing to relocate back to old blighty. She's still on the straight and narrow with losses/sts but no gains. Bloody brilliant concidering whats happening with her :rotfl:.

Hello Lucy, I'm still confused by this 3 lb thing that you mention. In our group you have to reach the target, not within 3 lbs of it, the actual target, then you no longer need to pay. You are a Target Member (and can also get onto the couch at the back of Dizzy's tank). Once you are a target member you have to stay within 3 lbs of it to continue being "free". I've got a feeling this is the same at every group (but I could be wrong, I often am)
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Why not have squash? The no added sugar ones are free.

Fussy mare as I am, I can't be doing with anything with sweetener in. I don't like diet drinks or NAS squash, or tea with sweetener or anything. Which is why I'm on the water. And the green tea! But I've bought some different teabags today - Clipper tea was recommended and I've just bought plain green tea, no flavour. And the beauty of having had such a disgusting sour tea yesterday, is that the one today didn't taste so bad, anything was better than the green tea with lemon! Lol.

And it looks like we made it once again

lost another 4.5 lb tonight, which is fabulous as I feel really bloated and was not expecting a loss. I've been following plan to the letter but felt so rubbish that I thought I hadn't lost any. I even avoided all buffet food at a party at the weekend, despite the fact that I made most of it.
  • Well done losers, some huge losses there :T:T:T:T

Snacks - apple, cheese [.5a], onken, grapes

  • Morning all,

Im really pleased to report a 1lb loss at my weigh in last night. Im just back from holiday (a week ago) so its been tough getting back into it. Hopefully this loss will spur me on - I have about half a stone to go to my target which I would like to reach by Christmas.

I didnt bring my lunch to work today so Im going to get a jacket pot with tuna from the canteen (they do it without mayo etc so its free food). Tonight Im planning cod with new pots and veg.

    Have a great day everyone.

Hi everyone! I haven't posted for months I confess, but I have been trying to keep up with the news. I reached my target, which was 11 and a half stone, about midsummer, and decided as I had plenty of bulk to lose, I would continue.

I have fallen off the straight and narrow a few times, but am now just under 11st, and though now losing very very slowly, I am keeping going. I was 11 1/2 st when I left school 40 years ago, and have never been under that weight in my whole adult life.

Until 10 years ago I was 20+st, but got down to around 13 then after a gastric bypass. It slowly went back on until in November last year I had reached 17. I daren't imagine the quantities of weight I have lost and regained in my adult life, it must be hundreds and hundreds of pounds.

But, and this is the big but, I have never managed to stay on any diet or healthy eating plan for more than 9 months. In September, I passed the nine month mark. I can't begin to explain how significant that feels, almost like I have a new life. I felt that my life had been rescued by the gastric bypass - I wouldn't have gone much longer without having a heart attack or stroke - now it feels like a completely new beginning.

I can buy size 14, (at age 18 I wore size 18); I have gone from a 42C to a 36A, down almost a shoe size, but it's wierd, I see a stranger in the mirror or in shop windows out of the corner of my eye. When I look at my body, yes I can see there's less of me, of course I can, but it still feels the same. Does anyone else feel like that? Or am I totally nutty? Please don't feel you have to answer that! But this is real life, I can live now, and not wait for 'I'll do it when I manage to lose weight'!

I am so impressed and encouraged by your journeys, and your ups and downs too, you make me cry, smile and laugh (Dizzy I wish you so well, you are amazing) and trust you will all succeed, however long it needs to take.

Lots of love to you all

  • Well I joined the group yesterday afternoon and I really didn't like it :o I didn't like the consultant or the other people. I'm not a very open person and they all seemed very over the top to me and I was cringing for a lot of it :( I'm hoping that I was just feeling self conscious as it was my first time and I'll give it another go.

    My first meal plan!

Breakfast - activia fat free raspberry yogurt, apple
Lunch - cheese (hea) omelette with tomatoes and lettuce and spring onions
Dinner - grilled chicken with sw chips, peas, carrots and cauliflower. Satsuma to follow

Snack - had a fibre plus bar at work and will probably have a rice krispies square for my syns, 7. I think I'm going to aim for 10 syns a day and see where that leads me.

My favourite herbal tea is peppermint. Just peppermint. It tastes exactly the same as it smells, and it's also good for bringing up any necessary burps.

Polly that is so inspiring, you have done fabulously well. To answer your question, I think it works both ways. I hadn't noticed that I'd put weight on over the past few years because I felt just the same. Now it's gone, I feel just the same EXCEPT my hands don't keep brushing my thighs when I walk! And seeing myself in mirror and window reflections, well it's fab and I'm sure you look fab too. It makes buying clothes so much more fun, eh? Big hugs and congratulations xx

Yes I think a lot of first nights are like that ... perhaps stay for another week or so. When you find someone you can talk freely to you'll find most people find it a bit cringeworthy but it is useful to stay and I confess sometimes I am so happy that someone who has struggled finally manages to lose a few pounds that I cheer, honestly you can get quite tied up in other peoples' eating/slimming lives - a bit like on here really.

I couldn't decide what to have for tea and I tend to have salad, either with some hot new potatoes or in a hot wholemeal pitta but Ijust didn't fancy it. So I got out a big plate and layered fruit on it - plums (tasteless), pears (tasteless), pineapple, melon. To give the tasteless stuff some flavour I dribbled over some NAS lemon squash and left it sitting for a while, it did the trick. So I ate that lot first, and just had a little bacon sandwich (bread my heb, very rare I eat bread) for my pudding :rotfl:and it was all very nice.

I picked up some WW yogs yesterday they were 2 packs for £2 in sainos but they have a little note on saying "new recipe, now 1 pt" does anyone know if that means syns? I guess I can plough my way into the website and look for myself so don't look for me, just thought someone might already have checked :D
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
