Vent - God damn neighbours

Most of the problems with bad neighbours stems from one set thinking: "if they did that to me I wouldn't get annoyed therefore they shouldn't get annoyed when I do it to them".
I think this is the case in many an instance. People find it difficult to accept what they don't feel themselves unfortunately.
It's an awkward situation and I can see both sides.
I suspect there is much more to the neighbour's annoyance than *just* a damp path and it's all come to a head now. Maybe he feels all the water is detrimental to his garden, maybe he doesn't like the idea of detergents soaking into his ground, there could be all sorts of things going on in his head.
The thing is, whatever his reasons are, he's unlikely to be mentioning it now just for badness.
You really need to go talk to him OP, try to find out what the problem actually is, before you decide what you're going to do. Maybe if he thinks you are taking him seriously he might be more tolerant.Herman - MP for all!0 -

The ground the water ends up on is concrete. He has no front garden.0 -
Ah, well in that case I have no idea why he is upset but that doesn't mean you shouldn't still try to find out what the problem actually is. Imo.Herman - MP for all!0

Seems to me like you've done nothing wrong maybe you just caught that neighbour in a bad mood......i would just continue what you've been doing if he wishes to contest it just ask him what the problem is calmly then you can resolve it.
People in this thread are overreacting to something that is quite small and petty i do understand this something you do with your son and thats fine but if the neighbour wants to take it further i would maybe just leave it and not bother with the hassle.0 -
What, you mean like the people who were right about Iraq?
Well thats a whole different debate. We would need a new thread on that........This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
How about you wash your car when it's raining? The his drive wil already be wet, and he'll have nothing to complain about.0

Surely the water is running there because it's running on it's way to the drain?0

OP you are totally right, your neighbour is a total and utter CUnext Tuesday. Wash your car wherever you want, your neighbour really is a turd.
(Just saying what the OP wants to hear to make him feel better about his selfishness)0
