Shared Drive? Shouldn't have a car parked on it in the first place. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

What should we do with it then. Turn it in to a moat?0

I would understand if it left a puddle in front of his door. But it does not. It just makes the ground damp. I dont want to argue with my neighbour but I will wash my car on my drive.
Again why not wash it on the road or use a car wash ?0 -
I like to wash my car myself as it saves money and I don't want my son on the road washing the car. I have a driveway for safety0

Best settle for the arguments then.0

If there is soap scum everywhere and pools of dirt collecting on the drive from rinsing off that might be what is annoying him more than the water. I say that because next-door but one has some sort of bad OCD problem and is permanently cleaning his car for 6 or 7 hours at a time several times a week . The run-off soap and dirt collects outside my house and also causes condensation inside my car due to the water spray for hours on end. I haven't said anything to him because he clearly has a problem but I am tempted to give him a psychiatrists business card!0

I maybe wash my car once every 2 months. For about an hour0

Invest in a towel for the occasion and make a big play of trying to dry the damp patch. If he still comments then ask him what he does to dry that area when it rains - then just ignore him.
Wish I could get my son to help clean my car!"When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0 -
I have been living here for a year now and like to wash my car with my son because he likes to help me
I prefer a sponge, it fits in the bucket better
I can see his point if it settles outside his door and makes a puddle but otherwise he maybe likes to moan and he could have certainly been more polite and asked you instead of ordering you to do it elsewhere.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140
