before throwing anything away i always look on Ebay to see if someones listed a similar item and if theres a demand for it .
Thats a great idea.. the amount of good stuff Ive just got sick of looking at and thrown in the bin

What an great thread! Must have chucked out stuff worth a fortune over recent years. Best thing I ever sold was half a dozen new Body Shop all in one face bases. They retailed at £10 each, I bought them for £1 when they redesigned the packaging. Sold them all for well over a tenner each, maximum of £17. Same person bought 3! Have just looked at the 'I want it' page (didn't know it existed either) and someone is advertising for the very same thing! Might have one last check to make sure I've none left...
  • I seem to have sold some right old tat lately!! Its been great though, I think the original poster should be nominated for a knighthood!!

After reading this I put on 10 items, and 6 sold. my miniture bottles of perfumes did not sell but the used perfume and a new Elizabeth Arden one sold well. The soap went for £8 to a guy in the States. After fees and postage and taking into account that 4 did not sell I made £60 from stuff I would have binned as the perfumes were getting on a bit (something I made perfectly clear in the add.
The funny thing is they went all over the world, Idaho, Rome, Madera, Wales, Scotland and UK - really nice.

  • We have sold empty perfume bottles before, never mind half full ones.

We've had several items go for more than they cost in the shop!

I've got a dinner service in the loft which is on the selling list. Also loads of clothes that don't fit; high-heeled shoes and boots that I keep buying because I convince myself I can walk in but can't; and cosmetics. (I have sold a few freebie items from magazine subscriptions and the like).

These aren't so much a list of odd items but suggestions for people to give them ideas of what to sell.

Got an email from ebay a few days ago:
"On 10th and 11th February it will cost you just 5p to list a CD or DVD and you can put a picture of your item in the listing for free!"
    So get in there quick!

Last night i put an old cd single on and it already has a bid and 4 watchers, and an enquiry from the US. I checked ebay for the same item and it has previously sold for £16 and someone even has it at £49.99 BIN!

    This could be good.
