Really interesting reading the start of this thread from a decade ago! People posting about selling empty perfume bottles, phone chargers, toys from their childhood... don't think anyone would be surprised at successfully selling those nowadays :D

  • My old dad (87) has always kept nuts, bolts, washers, screws etc in jam jars or similar.  He used to nail the lids to the underside of a shelf in the garage and then could easily take the jar down and put them back.  Since he doesn’t do diy anymore and he moved to a flat without a man cave space, they had to go.  There were about 50 of them.  I put them on the FB marketplace and although I put them on as free, I had four people wanting them so I  divided them up and shared them out.  Dad was chuffed to bits!  I’m sure they would have paid for them bit it’s lovely to think those old rusty jars are being used still. I kept a few for my own keepsakes though!
  • Several years ago I sold a year's worth of belly button fluff on eBay - I'd diligently collected it every day for 12 months and stored it in a tiny resealable bag.

There were thousands of people watching the listing but it only sold for 1p (plus P&P)
