Most random item was a broken Dyson and a pop up laundry/toy basket. I've listed another 50 items :D

    Thats great!

  • Was inspired by this the other week so I thought I'd try listing a few things.

A lot didn't sell, but what did go was a wallet/card holder I got as part of a football team membership pack a few years ago, and a set of magnetic bookmarks that were a Christmas present about 3 years ago (lovely thought but I never use bookmarks).

They didn't sell for much but it's still nice to have two less things to take with me when I eventually move XD

A friend had cleared out his old mate's flat and left a bin bag of papers etc in my house (!) Wanting to recycle paper, I went through it and rescued old motorcycle Speedway photos in not-brilliant condition. I offered them to friends and Freecyclers for nothing but no takers. Flogged them individually on eBay for £85 all over Europe!!!

What always worries me about people who buy old Pandora boxes, bags etc or, in fact, any high end wrapping, is that they will resell some fake tat and pass it off as genuine because it has the bag/box!!
    Maybe I'm just a cynic?

I had thought the same... but then just a few days after I sold them there was a sale on the pandora website, ordered myself a bracelet, and some earrings for my sister, both gone up for Christmas presents but because they were ordered the same time they came in a beautiful box, but bracelet part in bottom and earring part in the top so just 1 box!... Don't you hate it when you sell something then need it :@! oops!

Also you see a lot of people selling old charms without box, I've had some come from jewellers in pouches instead of boxes, if it was for a present I think they look nicer presented in a box :) and will sell for more with a box! ;)

So someone scamming people off possibly... genuine people also possible. One of the ladies who bought from me asked me if I could post it asap as it was for a charm she had bought her daughter for her birthday later that week, and was very happy to get it in time :)

My dad does some work for someone who buys broken Dysons on ebay then dad gets the job of fixing them up for him to sell them on! lol x

I have just heard of something that would never have occured to me to sell. My friend sold her Chanel reading glasses on a local selling site for £25 she paid £200 for them. She suggested you can just take them to get the lenses changed to your prescription. So if when you were more flush you bought designer spectacles and now have a cheaper different prescription why not try selling those frames on.
  • This thread inspired me to start selling on eBay a few years ago, since then I've made a reasonable amount on decent stuff but have sold a few weirdish things too. For example a chipped, kinda grimy and irreparable Fossil watch and I made a couple of quid profit on neon pink leg warmers I bought from Primark for a fancy dress party!

Saw the thread again recently having joined MSE forums and will be on the hunt for items around the house to sell as saving for a deposit on first house! :-)
