Things You Never Thought You Could Sell

When I had my horses I used to rent a field to turn them out in the summer.
I was meticulous about picking up their droppings twice a day and made a small muck heap out of them. The owner of the field put the entire manure heap on eBay and sold it!
Obviously, the buyer had to provide his own transport to collect it; it would be rather a difficult item to send through the post!!:rotfl:
A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.0 -

I always sell my empty ink cartridges on eBay. I used to recycle them but stored them up, put them into several lots, and sold them for just over £28. Easy to post. I sold my Kindle with a cracked screen for £37. I also sold a very old pocket watch BOX (not the watch just the tatty old box) with coffee stains on it for £47.0

Postage makes eBay a bit of a non-starter.
I never find that books sell at a car boot sale.
may be worth considering.0 -
I bought a vintage incomplete tea set for £2.00 because I wanted the cups and saucers for candle making. I put the bits I didn't want on eBay for 99p each in an auction just to get rid of them. Sold - rough prices - sugar bowl £6.99, milk jug £8.99, teapot £37! Amazed. Postage was paid on top of that. Bought vintage brooch for 99p sold it for just over £28. Sold an old empty perfume bottle in original box for just over £100.0

We are having a new kitchen extension so I listed the old (but still good condition) kitchen units, upvc doors and windows on eBay. Got £93 for the back door, £64 for a large window, and £40 for some French doors. Another window only got £10.50 so it can be very variable! Also sold the old kitchen units, cooker & hob for £315. (They got a bargain!)
Apparently landlords often buy second hand kitchens for refurbing their properties. The people who bought the windows and doors were obviously builders.
Anyway, I was quite pleased with the outcome - much better than sending it all to the tip!0 -
Hi has anyone sold anything recently on ebay that you wouldn't think would sell?0

no because I don't bother listing if I don't think it'll sell.0

When I was nearing 50 my mum had a clear out of her loft and decided to offload all my old childhood dolls and clothes on me from the 60s/70s. I took some time and made up the original outfits to list as lots on Ebay. All was going really well until the last lot finished - it was lots of odd bits and pieces like Sindy's stockings, socks, plastic shoes, oranges and a white PVC handbag. The lot started a bidding war and ended up at about £65. I was intrigued to know why the bidder had gone so high so asked them what the item was that sparked their interest. Turned out to be the handbag that was from a rare outfit. When I looked the outfit up, I don't remember ever having it, so I must have "borrowed" the handbag from one of my friends. What goes around comes around.....I hope!0

I sold a pair of Hunter wellies that someone had dumped outside my sister's house in Sydney. They were high-heeled lace up things and spotless. I brought them back with me and put them on ebay and got £145!!!!!!0
