Things You Never Thought You Could Sell

Going back to page 3, I totally agree with ref selling broken/faulty items on ebay
As long you highlight that it is broken or faulty then its up to the buyer/bidder's choice to bid. Then there is no come back!
Ive sold a mobile phone which was water damaged, got more than I expected. as the buyer used it for parts in conjunction with his phone.
I too sold my OH's car, engine needed replacing, I advertised this as NOT RUNNING - BUYER TO TOW AWAY! It went. So Im not complaining.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
One of my local charity shops was going to throw out 5 old and rather scruffy (or in eBayspeak, "Vintage Shabby Chic") padded coathangers found among the donations, so I offered to put them on eBay, and they sold for £2.49: not a lot, but better than them going in the bin. The lady who gave me them in the shop was surprised anyone would pay even the postage for them.tsharp wrote:Neighbour: How's that cot quilt I gave you? Is it keeping the baby warm?

Don't you find that if you list loads of stuff, some of which sells, you end up with an unexpected and largely unfathomably large ebay bill that seems to land at totally random times?0 -
Right - here's what I got lying around in the house/shed
3 Bin liners full of various carrier bags (might come in handy for someone collecting green points with tesco)
about 1/2 a dozen old car tax discs, probably dated 2000's +
very old camping stuff, from chairs to kettles
used NUTS magazines (OH wont be happy when he see's me lisitng them)
PC GENIUS collection of pc's mags & floppy discs, think 1990's
lots of used packaging materials including jiffy bags, bubble wrap & plastic bags
endless of empty vitalite margarine tubs with lids, and the good reliable plastic chinese take away containers with lids
rabbit hutch
old computer bits & tower unit, working (just need to find what the spec is)
endless variety of children's books
golf clubs - junior & adult sizes
Thigh trimmer stepper (broken) repairable (OH never gets round to do it)
wheel trims (used)
steering lock
used greeting cards, nice pics cut out and re-decorated (crafts) - have done this before. Makes pennies.
And I like the idea of used t-bags from an earlier post, I go thru loads (tetley's)
Probably not as whacky as some people's posts/listings, but Might give these a whirl over the next few days

My work colleagues have started counting all the chairs and tables etc at work as they know I'd sell my own Grandmother to make something. Sad thing is I don't have a Grandmother anymore - might be able to resell her burial plot!!! Only joking. Wonder what it would go for on ebay? I guess it would have to be listed as used!!!The best things in life are free.....or at least discounted!!!0

I always pay my Ebay sellers fees as soon as i receive payment for the items ive sold . That way i never receive a large bill.
Another thing i always do is check the spelling before i list an item so people can find it easily0 -
Do u think its possible to be addicted to selling? I put a load of DVDs on Amazon late last night - some of them I even forgot I had! - and have sold two already :T
AND after reading this thread, I'm gonna scour the house for even more stuff to sell... Might even sell the house, it is rented after all'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -
Hi, I was rading this thread earlier todayu & started thinking about what I could sell, I have planned to clear out cupboards & wardrobes & pay the money received off the ccs that I still haven't quite admitted to!!
Any way, when tidying up found that OH had received vouchers for money off the Daily Mirror (don't know why) so I investigated a little on Ebay & listed them. 1 day nlisting & will now sell for at least a pound. I have looked at the potential buyers 'items for sale' & it seems that they specialise in selling vouchers, including out of date ones. Can somebody enlighten me?
I thought I needed to sell them quick while they were still in date!0 -
Tesco self scan doesn't check the dates on money off vouchers!! Perhaps thats why they still sell??0
-
I think maybe a newsagent could buy the vouchers cos they can claim the full value back from the supplier. I used to work for a charity in a hospital and the paper man used to take all the vouchers I could get and give me the cash for the charity :-)
OK, I'm inspired - off to eBay to list some bitsGOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

I think you're right spendaholichick. I looked at the others for sale & it is the same two or 3 people bidding on most of them. I've learnt something new though.... never throw anything away & always look on ebay as well as MSE in case there are money off vouchers available for things I want.
Still working out SOA & how to do signatures & stuff, but in between ebaying & sorting out cupboards (which should give me stuff to sell) I have moved some of my credit card debt to 0%
