I've found with clothes that if they're nwt they either don't sell or go cheaply. Worn, but in excellent condition sells much better strangely. I often put them as used in the condition box but then in the text say that I've not worn it.

I havent really sold much at all on Ebay, but i have bought quite a lot
(:embarasse hence my shameful debt) when i look for clothes, i always tick the used box in the search options as i feel that i will get a better bargain-i am not at all interested in new goods and i also think there are a lot of fakes.
So maybe to list your new item as used isnt quite as mad as it sounds?
I have to start selling on Ebay and will be listing new items as used-will let you know how i get on!

Sold an old Jamie Magazine for £6 the other day. Was quite chuffed with that. I have to use the scheduled listings trick as the turbo lister doesn't work on macs.

Though the other day I got my DH to list the items I had in the scheduled listings immediately but he didn't understand and got I charge 6p for each one. Oh well.

Hi, i have just started using scheduled listings on ebay, its made thing so much easier!!

When you list an iten for sale you get the option to schedule your listing to start at a later date, please note that it will cost you 6p to do this IF you dont follow it through and do the following....

List your item as you usually would but schedule it to start at a later date, upto 30 days later is the max i believe, as long as you start your auctions earlier than the schedule date you dont get charged the 6p.

For me it works well, i have more time in the mornings to prepare listings, but find auctions that end in the evening tend to sell better, so with this method, i can list a few items in the mornings, delay the start times for 30 days but actually start the auctions at a better time to sell later in the evenings or wait until a free listing day and start them all then.

In order to start the listing earlier than scheduled you just need to revise each item and " start listing now" HTH ~ its brill! :D

Great tip! I could put put all the details on while DS asleep and go on and start them on Sunday evening!

By the way, free listings days have tended to be every 2 weeks in the last few months, (barring the odd occasion where they've skipped them). Based on this pattern, there should be one this weekend :T

Oh I'm so glad it's another free listing weekend.
Have to say tho I haven't done particularly well. It's given me the chance to list at a slightly higher price than I normally would've ( ie for a price I'd be happier to accept and, not too OTT either) but unfortunately it hasn't made a great deal of difference for me. Disappointing :(.

Going to give it another go.

    Fingers crossed.

    Good luck to everyone.

Kiwikaz & anyone else having problems selling, might be worth having another look at your listings. There's loads of tips on other threads, eBay itself and elsewhere, but if something hasn't sold after relisting it, I always go back and:

    - Check it's in the best category. You can search for similar items without narrowing the category and see where other sellers have put it. For e.g. I didn't realise there was a market for sticker books until mine sold for £18, I had it listed under the football mag it came free with! How many more potential buyers would've seen it in the 'right' category?
    - Reread the title. Does it 'sell' the item's benefits as much as it could? If it's a higher value item, I get a 2nd opinion. Remember some cats have thousands of items in them, yours need to stand out from the crowd.
    - Look at the picture. If it's blurry, I tend to think the seller's trying to hide something :), likewise, if you've mentioned a defect, show them a pic. If it's a category with 12 free pics, go wild and crazy (maybe it's just me, but an item seems more special with lots of pics), but make sure the one you want them to see next to the listing is first.
    - A new one from this thread, consider 'new' vs 'used'. Like some others here, I've struggled to sell BNWT stuff. I will be rethinking how I list stuff this weekend.

Some of these have been mentioned previously, but hopefully they'll be useful to someone who's just found this fab thread.

Good luck on the weekend everyone! :)

Just remember, 99p listings are free to list any time. On free listing weekends auctions starting above 99p are free as well! Woohoo!

    Good luck.:j
