Things You Never Thought You Could Sell

I've found with clothes that if they're nwt they either don't sell or go cheaply. Worn, but in excellent condition sells much better strangely. I often put them as used in the condition box but then in the text say that I've not worn it.0

I'm def going to list my stinky old converse this weekend!! This thread has inspired me

I've sold loads over the last few weeks and have a healthy £460 in my paypal account, everything that hasn't sold after 2 go's is now in a bag for the charity shop. Some stuff BNWT's didn't sell which I find really bizarre but maybe as the above poster said, marking them as used might be a better bet.
This weekend, I'm moving on to shoes and handbags (of which, there are loads
) I'm trying to have an enormous clearout as we move house in August and we're expecting our first baby in December - the extra cash will come in really handy

yeah I think people trust used stuff more - which is bizarre as I only buy new on ebay - wouldn't want someone's dodgy seconds!! xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0

I find new stuff sells well. Most often the things I have with tags still on are Primark things (because its cheap I often buy something in every colour and then don't wear half of it) but they regularly go for MORE than the price I paid which is daft!
I don't care if something is used or new, I never search by one or the other. If its reasonably priced, nice and in good condition thats all that matters to me
As part of my job I sell new things via eBay and we do very well with new shoesNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
I love this thread! I registered after reading the whole thing (a page at a time, over a few days
), so I could express my appreciation!
Been selling on eBay for a few months and have to agree with previous posters: the things you think will sell don't and the odd stuff you think you might as well stick on there goes onto a bidding frenzy!
I sold a bunny ears, 'tail' and bowtie set that I'd got for a hen party for more than I'd bought it for. The woman I sold it to paid more for a faster postal service as she 'really need[ed] it for Valentine's day' - talk about too much information!!!Worker in, and passionate advocate of, the credit union movement. I don't speak for the sector or for any individual CU. My opinions & experiences are my own.
Search MSE for more info about CUs and find ones that cover your area by searching online for 'find your credit union'.0 -
With the new things not selling - I think sometimes if you list things too cheaply it makes people suspicious and puts them off. This is a bit odd really but I have tried to sell new things before and found I did better when I increased the price a bit.
I list most stuff at 99p - even if its worth more - on the basis that if I dont wear it or use it I might as well sell it for something.
DS had 20 football magazines like new which I have just listed in batches. Probably wont sell them but all I will have lost is my time so its worth a go.0 -

Hi there can I suggest that keeping that much in your paypal account may not be a good idea? You do hear stories of people having their accounts hacked, and you have more than the mimumum withdrawal to bring it back into a bank account... chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

This is a fantastic thread, its been on here ages, why didnt I see it sooner! :T
I made quite a lot of money selling my nursing textbooks at the end of my course, but probably not as much as I paid for them.
Thats my plans for my day off tomorrow sorted - will be spending the day rummaging around for strange things to sell!
Now, where did I put those old tax discs.....0 -
Todayi will be adding a 99p frenzy to eBay, I do love it, 22 items are ending today so we shall see what becomes of it all!Life is too short not to love what you do.0

Sorry for the long post
Did you list that as being worn too?0
