Betony, good tip. How do you package them? I would be nervous about posting plants (despite buying them online myself).0

I know! it's mad! it was a hideous hat! I would have thought a museum or something bought it... bit of an expensive accessory!Life is too short not to love what you do.0

Just googled it... it actually sold for
£81,100.01 :eek:Life is too short not to love what you do.0 -
Jevvors: The plants I sell aren't big mature plants and I buy square tubular postage boxes from a local independant stationers (much cheaper than the big chains) and just factor some of the cost into the P&P charges.0

Can I just say a big thank you to everyone posting on this thread. I kind of fell out of love with ebay after someone complained one of my descriptions wasnt accurate (I was mortified because I try to be 100% honest) then someone messed me about with their payment.
I have been inspired to try again and have listed about 20 things so far. Fingers crossed!0 -
I bought a few make up gift sets for friends at christmas for £10 each that had 3 full size make up bits in them. I had a few left over and broke up the sets and sold them for £5-£10 each item! didnt expect to get more than £1 each item to be honest! Bpught 6 sets for £60 and made £70 over all!!
I have also sold scraps of paper that were left over from craft projects for £1 a bag.0 -

Wow, I've spent the last few days on and off reading this thread and it's had me giggling and amazed all the way through, thanks OP and everyone else who has posted!
Has inspired me to get back into ebay (after being put off by a bad experience).
Might start with my battered skanky Converse after reading some of the posts on here! :rotfl:Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Have to say, this is a fantastic thread! I've spent the last few days thinking about what I have of any value to put on ebay but going to just stick anything and see what happens.
Out of interest do you tend to start the bidding at 99p and just see what happens? Most interested to see what people do for those items that didn't sell but they hoped/expected to....0
