Weirdest things I've sold - three sheep skulls (yes, really). Found on our local moors by my son, sold on ebay for between £10 - £17 each!

Been reading this thread with interest. I have a few things to list next time there's a free listing weekend, including a pair of pink hair straighteners I got free with the NOTW magazine a while back. It says 'Fabulous' on them so it may be pretty obvious they were a freebie. Will this matter - what should I write in the description given I didn't pay for them !? What do other people put in the description for stuff they got for free ??

I always clearly state that it was a freebie. I sold a squeezy stress pig with something.com written on it (clearly a freebie). Didn't expect it to sell at all

As Fredula says - be completely honest. Say they came free with "whatever" magazine. Honesty is always the best policy when it comes to eBay

I was given those straighteners a while back, didn't know they were freebies and sold them on ebay recently... I didn't have a original cost mentioned in the listing because I didn't know.

It might have been me that bought them :p. I did have a pair and gave them away as at the time they were no use to me, now that I have shorter hair I needed a pair and saw these very ones on ebay and bought them (at least knowing what I was getting).
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

When is the free listings weekend and how much did you sell the USB shavers for?

we won't know when the next free listings weekend is until ebay send out the e-mail. But get ready for it, start prepping your listings, you can use scheduler, and when it is free listings....go, go, go.

Thank you sooo much OP! This really inspired me to have a go at selling for the first time. Just a few bits lying around has brought me £30 nearer being debt free and I think I may have a new addiction!!

I didnt think schedulers were allowed on free listing days.

What's the scheduler? (sorry to be having a dumb brunette in need of an espresso moment :rotfl:)

I sold one thing on eBay last night...a tatty red leather oasis bag for £1.99 plus £1.99 postage - yet the whisper bag didn't sell? Go figure?

Hi, i have just started using scheduled listings on ebay, its made thing so much easier!!

When you list an iten for sale you get the option to schedule your listing to start at a later date, please note that it will cost you 6p to do this IF you dont follow it through and do the following....

List your item as you usually would but schedule it to start at a later date, upto 30 days later is the max i believe, as long as you start your auctions earlier than the schedule date you dont get charged the 6p.

For me it works well, i have more time in the mornings to prepare listings, but find auctions that end in the evening tend to sell better, so with this method, i can list a few items in the mornings, delay the start times for 30 days but actually start the auctions at a better time to sell later in the evenings or wait until a free listing day and start them all then.

In order to start the listing earlier than scheduled you just need to revise each item and " start listing now" HTH ~ its brill! :D
