My dad sold someones false teeth on ebay !!
I assume they'd finished with them first?! :rotfl:Worker in, and passionate advocate of, the credit union movement. I don't speak for the sector or for any individual CU. My opinions & experiences are my own.
Search MSE for more info about CUs and find ones that cover your area by searching online for 'find your credit union'.0 -
Hi fellow Ebayers,
Well I've had quite a good sucess from my last listings and nearly sold everything listed. My best seller was jeans! But my worst was a lovely New Look little blackl dress that was so nice and only sold for 99p! I knew I should have listed it at a higher price but just thought it would attract more bids but it didn't - was quite shocked.
Also, I was surprised when a my used bottle of Neutrogena shampoo got bids
Hope you all have lots of bids this weekend!0 -

Sold my NI card... seems an odd thing to want. Same person took my old expired passport off me but they did haggle me down a little. Some people will buy anything!

Bundle the cheap paperbacks together and list them as a job lot. Someone will buy them to break up and sell seperately. And if you list something which doesn't sell, don't think it won't sell just relist it and try again.
I love ebay. Like some of you once sold a broken games console which really surprised me, but also gave me an idea. Last year when my HDTV broke I opened it up and stripped it down selling each individual part in total I made £350 if I'd sold it complete as a broken TV would have been lucky to get £100
farradn, someone left a flat screen HD TV in the communal area of my flats a couple of months ago. About a month ago, we thought well noone is going to come back for that! So we brought it upstairs, plugged it in, and it looks like it has been punched right in the middle! The screen is !!!!!!eddd. I might do what you did! Which parts do I sell / where do I begin?! :doh:0 -
They will use this information to steal your identity and create a new one. I would never sell this kind of information. Your NI number is unique to you. This is related to tax records and benefit information. They can pass themselves off as you and get credit and loans in your name etc.
:rotfl: i was joking...
On topic... I did sell a jar of buttons at a car boot sale. The jar was on display but not clear so didn't look to see what was in there (thankfully not full of money!). Someone picked it up and asked how much for the buttons... I was very confused at the time.0 -
SparklesJD wrote: »Kiwikaz & anyone else having problems selling, might be worth having another look at your listings. There's loads of tips on other threads, eBay itself and elsewhere, but if something hasn't sold after relisting it, I always go back and:
- Check it's in the best category. You can search for similar items without narrowing the category and see where other sellers have put it. For e.g. I didn't realise there was a market for sticker books until mine sold for £18, I had it listed under the football mag it came free with! How many more potential buyers would've seen it in the 'right' category?
- Reread the title. Does it 'sell' the item's benefits as much as it could? If it's a higher value item, I get a 2nd opinion. Remember some cats have thousands of items in them, yours need to stand out from the crowd.
- Look at the picture. If it's blurry, I tend to think the seller's trying to hide something, likewise, if you've mentioned a defect, show them a pic. If it's a category with 12 free pics, go wild and crazy (maybe it's just me, but an item seems more special with lots of pics), but make sure the one you want them to see next to the listing is first.
- A new one from this thread, consider 'new' vs 'used'. Like some others here, I've struggled to sell BNWT stuff. I will be rethinking how I list stuff this weekend.
Some of these have been mentioned previously, but hopefully they'll be useful to someone who's just found this fab thread.
Good luck on the weekend everyone!
Thanks for your advice.
Think I need to do a little more research into the items I'm listing.
Has anyone offered FREE P & P as a way to attract a sale ? Obviously I suppose this would have to be factored in to the starting price.
