Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
I give all my customers every brochure except for the ones I skip (normally C14 at the end of August so I get some Avon free time with my daughter over the summer holidays, then C2 & C3 over Christmas) BUT I always include a BIG note saying:

"There will be no brochure between XXX and XXX, the next book will be put through around YYY and the delivery for that will be ZZZ"

a campaign before the last one I put through (So C18 which is going out next week will have a note saying about no book over Christmas & just one more book before then). Then a reminder in the 'last book'. This lets people know why they're not getting a book and allows them to buy anything they may need. I do still answer texts/emails during my 'holidays' but I won't collect/deliver an order/returns during that time as far as my customers are concerned.

Yes I appreciate their custom, but I also don't want to be delivering on Christmas eve/day/boxing day so I'm firm, but polite and keep them informed. The rest of the year I am very flexible though and I've had more than one customer comment that its only fair I have 'holidays' considering how accommodating I am and considering I am out in all weathers. Some were rather shocked the other winter when I was out in 2 inches of snow, while it was bitterly cold and snowing to make deliveries, on foot. One offered to give me a lift home but I politely declined as I still had deliveries to make :rotfl:
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

Well i'm a bit disappointed I must admit.

I have come back from my first catalogue collection and out of 40 catelogues, I had one order for £7. A large proportion of people were not in, even though I had specified leave outside if not in on Friday PM, so I ended up getting 18 catelogues back. Out of the 18 I got back, I got one chap quite rude to me - actually threw the Avon book in my face!!, four people asking me not to bother again (which I quite understand, no probs with that) and five people saying they buy Avon elsewhere.

I think my given streets are a bit of a dud to be honest, not to sound racist in the slightest, because I certainly am not, but there is a large Asian population around here, that from my experience, seem to intensely dislike being bothered, and not interested in Avon at all

Really could cry, at the moment, I have lost more than half of my catelogues, going to struggle making minimum order, and what I was hoping was going to be a little money making scheme, is actually going to end up costing me money..

Need to think of a plan here, as my territory clearly is not working

Just remember you have only just started so dont be disappointed as it does take time to build up your area. I have just managed to get 11 customers on one road out of 70 houses and just hit my 6th campaign. Keep plugging away at it, you will gain more people as you go along and even if they have not left the brochure out that does not stop me giving them one again nxt time.
I now only use my back campaign books for canvassing and give the new brochures to my customers who have ordered from me so if i loose one from canvassing its not so bad as I can't use them again anyway.
What brochures you do have left if there is any part of your territory you have not canvassed try those houses and ask around with friends family or at work too. Also re try the houses that did not leave them out either knock tomorrow maybe or leave a note asking them to leave the brochure outside on a specific day.
I have found some people have taken several canvasses to even acknowledge my existance so perservere :D

Think from memory on my first canvass from my territory i got 2 small orders just £10 between them. You start small then grow bigger over time.
Chin up and keep positive ;)

Hello ladies, I wonder if you can help me please?
I've had an email notification from avon saying a new customer has arrived via the e brochure. It's available in the pending orders section of our representative website apparently. Any ideas where I can find it as I've looked in the all the obvious places and I can't find this lead.
    Many thanks for your help.

Hi inaminute, i believe it should be at the bottom of your home screen. ive only seen it once. or maybe go into place an order and on the right hand side it normally has a bit where you have a pending order there if you have started to add some items but saved it to add more later.

I was also quite surprised after my first collection of books - no orders and no signs of interest either. I was able to get extra streets (always ask if you want to expand) and am now in the top-selling 7% of reps. :) I didn't even think about getting into PC when I started, I just glossed over the ASM talking about that because it seemed a long way away. I've just plugged away at the streets, canvassing thoroughly and then re-canvassing. I still have some awful streets, though, that's why it's always worth asking if you can expand.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
  • I'm getting a bit sick of doing avon at the minute! I'm really struggling to get the books out, now my toddler is getting a bit older he's making it so much harder when out delivering books or collecting. It's always raining so books come back damaged (even though I put them in brochure bags) the stuff is ALL over my house! And my printer just broke and I rely on this as I print stickers for forms and front of books to save time!

Anyway... Sorry rant over... My question was has anyone taking a break from avon and gone back to it? Do you lose your territory if you miss a couple of campaigns? I'm really at point where I want to quit but I've got a really good customer base so I really don't know what to do???!!!

  • Looking for some bit of advice here, am due to go on Mat leave in December and am thinking of taking a break from the earliest campaign in December as i would be busy with a Toddler and Baby. Has anyone done this and what have you done to let AVON know about this?

    Thank you
