am due to pick up my first lot of brochures tomorow, hopefully with lots of lovely orders in.
can i just ask a couple of questions- what kind of records do i need to keep for s/a purposes. wasnt planning on claiming back for anything other than brochures, bags, samples etc as i will be doing everything on foot. is it enough just to print copies of orders and highlight anything that is for business purposes?
I'm certainly no expert, but thats what I do, save all receipts, mark things off on my invoices etc. You need to hang onto everything for a while (a few years I think) just in case you get asked for proof of anything, but when you submit your tax return you just give them the overall figures (turnover, costs, and then it tells you what you profit was, which is the bit you pay tax on). Theres lots of useful info you can find on the self employment gov website.
also commision wise is it 20% btween £78 and £148 and then 25% on only the amount over £148?
Yep, although we refer to it as earnings rather than commission. But yes between £78 & £147.99 you get 20%, over £148 you get 25%. Take a look at the first post on this thread, it has the figures for when it's worth bumping up your order to the £148 mark in order to effectively get some products free.
have done a little flyer to put in with my brochures highlighting any really good offers in campaign 10 and to look out for the special offer in brochure 12 for the anew travel kits.
once i know what i am doing was planning on offering a free gift with orders over £10 every 3rd campaign. Is that too often/not often enough? and do i order them from the ht magazine- i assume i would be ok to use the items that cant be resold at the back.
not too bothered about knocking on doors to ask for books back- was planning on taking my 12 week old daughter in her carrier for the cute factor and also as a kind of ice breaker lol.
All customers are different, I have to say when I do spend x amount and get a free gift, some customers who usually spend that amount spend hardly anything, so it's a bit hit and miss - but certainly worth giving them "exclusive offers" to help encourage them to stay loyal & thank them for their custom

Sorry to hijack your thread as I am not a rep but a customer
Does anyone know if Avon still does Solutions Ageless Accolade in day cream? It hasnt been in last 2 brochures online and wondered if it is discontinued or replaced with another name??
Any ideas?
Thanks0 -

If memory serves me right, they have just altered the name slightly, it was the one in the pinkish/red packaging wasn't it? - I think it's now the ageless bloom cream in the solutions range, the colour of the packaging looks the sameAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Thank you! Will have a look at that. It gets so confusing when they continually change packaging etc

I think the Agless Bloom is also a new formula, as well as a different name.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.
I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Have double checked - and it says that "if your customers loved the ageless accolade, then they'll love the ageless bloom" - so yes might have been changed, but should be the closest product to try
Don't forget if you don't like it, you can return it for your money back using avons 90 day money back guarantee

Just wondering if anyone's tried the new CT Suede Effect nail varnish? Wondering what it's like?
It's in HT 12, I think I'm on quite a late mailplan so I'm hoping someone's already tried it and can tell me if it's any good?0 -
sorry haven't had that one hopefully someone else has and can give feedback
Well C10 surprised me, orders were ridiculously low....only thing I can think of is mine fell over the half term / jubilee celebrations so guessing everyone was watching their pennies. Hopefully C11 will be much better!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
thank you for the replies- lozza i waskind of hoping that was part of the reason for my first time not going very well. have got my last road to collect tomorrow n so far have not had a single order.0

Just making sure I'm still understanding the Smart start.
My first order was for £244 but there were a couple of items unavailable so I presume they will deduct the amounts of those, they were only nail varnishes so about a fiver I think.
Up to now on my second order I have £193 and still quite a few books out.
So am I right in thinking if I can do the MOV £78 on my third order I will be eligible for the £50 cashback.
Of course that is easier said than done because we are on holiday for most of the period but I'll have a good go!!
I'm starting to give C11&C12 to friends telling them that their order won't be here till 20th July so hopefully that'll do it.
I suppose if I'm a bit short it would be worth ordering some stuff myself because effectively they would be free products.
I am eventually getting my head around running two campaigns at the same time and would like to thank you all for your help so far.
I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future!!0
