Firstly I hate car boots but my daughter thinks it's a great idea.
My DH thinks he may have to start working 7 days a week (to get a job finished) so I would be at a lose end anyway on a Sunday which is why I'm almost considering it ( I must be mad).
I wondered if any one on here had ever done one or are you all far too sensible to be talked into it like me!!!
I know what she means and in theory it sounds o k.She says if we order the bubble baths for example in C10 they are buy 1 get 2 free at £4. So if we ordered 3(to keep it simple) we would earn £1 commission and say we sold them at £2 each we would make £2 profit on the 3 a total of £3 in all.
If we stuck to the things we knew were dearer in a different campaign we could maybe show the brochure showing the higher price.
Now I'm sounding like I think it's a good idea I hope she doesn't read this.
I wouldn't really have though Avon would like this but it is on their web site.
On the Avon site she said it was also a good way of getting new customers.
I would be interested to hear your horror stories in advance if any one has any haha.
I have to say, me & my DH tried carboots a couple of years ago...and we found them pointless for the avon side of it. Everyone wanted it nothing (like less than cost price), and even people who realised it was cheap anyway as they already bought Avon didn't want to buy much as they didn't want to upset their rep. I wouldn't say not do a carboot - but - have a good clear out of your house as well, if you can sell other stuff then it's worth it, as at least your house will be tidier and make some pennies from stuff you don't use/need anymore, and make some from Avon. But we worked out that we wouldn't make enough from selling only avon at a carboot to cover fuel, the pitch fee, and have profit left to make it worthwhile getting up so early and standing round for so long! Having said that, your area might be different. We did it a great big carboot, noone else selling avon there though, and we struggled, so give it a try, but, I wouldn't build your hopes up - I've found it works much better advertising on facebook for new customers in the for sale groups and getting new customers that way, doesn't cost anything and doesn't involve any work on your part reallyAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Hi Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place.
I've just joined Avon (got first order back )
Since starting I've discovered that there are 2 other reps with in a couple of hundred yards of me. The one started a couple of days before me and I don't know about the other one. So far I've had a book through the door from the unknown one and I'm wondering if she's been doing it for a while and the area manager has told her that 2 more have started in her area. My problem is that I'd banked on leaving books with lots of neighbours but that would be pointless now. I was led to believe that Avon gave each rep an area, is this not the case?
Again sorry if I've hijacked someones thread0 -
Hi, you need to request a set of streets to be allocated to you, you need to ask whoever came to sign you up to sort that out for you if they haven't already. However - if you speak to any of your neighbours, then you are quite within your rights to mention that you have started doing avon and see if they would like a brochure, as they are classed as friends/family (basically anyone you know you can see if they would like a brochure from you, you just cannot deliver brochures to streets unless they have been allocated to you. Write out a list of everyone you know, and see if they know anyone who would like a brochure, as it could be that one of your friends mum/sister/work colleague needs a rep to order from. I'd get in touch with who signed you up, and see about territory and take it from there. Very often there are a lot of reps living close by, but not everyone covers a territory, and sometime people choose to have a territory allocated to them that is a bit further away as they don't want to deliver to their neighbours. Hopefully you can get something sorted out
Welcome to the thread by the way!

Hi everyone,
One of my customer has just texted me to ask how much the 'avon bunion remover' is. Can anyone shed any light what this product might be? Have searched for bunions in C9/C10 & haven't found anything.
Thanks!Now proud Mumto3 :j0 -
Right thats me now, done my last campaign and after 18 months I am leaving Avon for my own sanity.
Since starting back this year I have only made a loss, my old sales leader left and my new one has been next to useless, I know there are good ones out there but the ones I had just don't give a toss about their reps and my sales manager just keeps emailing telling me I need to recanvas. Getting text messages from customers while I was on holiday demanding to know where the rest of their order was despite the fact I had explained that I was taking a campaign off and it would come in the next campaign as it was OOS, was the last straw. Then when I put out new books I had rather rude note attached to one demanding the rest of their order, again I had explained it was OOS and I was taking a camp off!
What more can I do? I am struggling with it and since having my second child I have been suffering with PND and I really don't need this! I was going to do one more campaign but I thought, nope thats it, why should I after all this hassle!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

Oh dear, take a break - sounds like it's all getting on top of you.... You can miss two campaigns and then just place a small order for yourself from HT £10+ to get free delivery and that will keep your a/c open for you. When/if you feel ready, you can then start again - or not... as you wish.
Sorry that you've not had any decent upline support - the other alternative is to take 6 months off and then join a decent team.... PM me if you think I can help in any way.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

To add to Lozza's post, due to Avon's modus operandi i.e. Territory reps and Friends & Family reps, there are always overlaps. Whoever came to talk you through everything and sign you as an Avon rep should have actually asked you if you would like some territory of your own to cover. If that didn't happen, it is only your Area Manager, who can allocate territory to you now. You can contact your Area Manager direct or ask your Upliner to do it.
PS: No need for any apologies on here, we're all here to help each other.

Hi MC, yes I have taken a few campaigns off and then like you say popped a small order in (in fact will keep my account open for a bit to do just that) and then come back and felt like I should have just stopped before I had my LO.
Thank you for your support, you and this thread has been more helpful to me than any of my previous SLs ever were!
Its the right decision for my family at the moment but I will bear that in mind;)Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0
