With the bank holiday weekend coming up here in the UK we wanted to
let you know the latest on your order for the HP TouchPad.
Regrettably, we are not yet in a position to confirm if and when we
will receive more stock. We are still working very closely with all
our suppliers making every effort we can to secure more supply.
Unfortunately, it is not only a matter of locating available stock,
but also securing it at a cost that allows us to offer it as close as
possible to the new lower prices everyone wants.
We would like to reiterate our promise that you will be first to know
when the stock situation becomes resolved, and that we will do
everything we can to fulfil your order.
We sincerely apologise for the time this is taking and wish you a
very enjoyable bank holiday.
Expansys were selling TP on ebay site earlier for full price but they all seem to have gone now. Wondering if they were trying to make a fast buck from all the craziness. I tried to buy from them but didn't manage due to website failure on trying to pay.0 -

Yes they did.0 -

people its time to come to terms with HP have sold out, you are very unlikely to get a TP now
i guess if HP do get a pallet together the staff will snap them up
nice units though, i am posting on mine now0 -
Got a call today from local Argos to tell me that my reservation for touchpad (which expired last Monday night) could not be met as they have no stock and will not be getting any more.
Fortunately I was one of the lucky ones and managed to get a 32GB model from Currys but had Argos said one was available I would have grabbed it as I have a queue of people who think it is great.
Got cover and keyboard at half price from Currys online delivered today and managed to get a half price charging dock from Comet. Result - less than £200 for the lot.
It is a shame there is not a huge number of apps like android or apple, but it is a nice piece of kit and I think it is as good as the iPad, worse in some respect, better in others - a key advantage is the proper multi-tasking.
It would be nice is HP had a rethink, now they have literally hundreds of thousands of new users but they would need to cut price anyway - its not worth over £400 (but neither is the iPad).
Think though matt987106 is right, you are unlikely to get a touchpad now from retail outlets, but I would say worth buying if you can get one on ebay for around £200.
Now where are the cheap Pre 3's?0 -
The HP Touchpad is a excellent piece of kit.
IF you change some of the, quite frankly bizarre software limitations HP decided to include.
I've posted before what to do (or what I've done) to speed up the touchpad by quite a bit, I can post again if someone nudges me.0 -

funny enough, i said i woul dhave paid between 150 and 200 for it, its a very nice bit of kit, i am not really a app person ( though i have a iphone and android phone )
i wanted it to sit on the sofa and surf the net, it does that well
just could do with sky go on it as a app0 -
hey just thought I'd say thanks in this thread to Tesco for refunding the price difference on touchpad. Its a nice piece of kit. Not an iPad-beater at its original rrp but definitely competitive at the new price, maybe even at around half the price. Hope all you guys get sorted too!0

I popped into Comet in Twickenham this morning, one of the managers said that there is still stock trickling into the branches but they are being snapped up quickly by staff (they had 2 in the Twickenham branch yesterday).
Might be worth having a chat with your local Comet, PCW manager to see if he will run some kind of waiting list for you, you might get lucky0 -

Just thought I'd say thanks in this thread to everyone from MSE who complained on Tesco's Facebook page about Tesco's refusal to drop/refund the price of the TouchPad.
Pressure by consumers through social media channels can have an effect - and Tesco was eventually forced to capitulate and reconsider its ridiculous stance.
I'm glad to see that they eventually saw sense and agreed to refund the difference to those who had purchased a TouchPad at full price before the price drop.0
