Ok weird...I just managed to place an order for a touchpad through the HP store; at the full price of £399.00.
    via this link: http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/products/tablets/product-detail.html?oid=5107123

    (a) do you reckon it will go through?
    (b) do you reckon I'll be able to wrangle a refund for the difference in price? :S

The order will be cancelled as they dont have stock. Confirmed via phone call to HP. It's listed on the site in error.

so tempted to click and buy @ hp but not sure they'll agree to the lower price match... :-( what to do...

i guess i'll be out on a limb eh MSE experts as they have no legal obligation to?

but I'd have the 28 day DSR cooling to fall back on if it remains unopned right?

    thanks

Errr.... In my opinion worth a order, like you say, if they did fulfil order (we know they won't, but if) then you may well get the refund and if you didn't you can return under DSR but it is 7 working days, not 28 as far as I know.

This post is not going to win many fans, but I am posting it from my brand new HP touchpad, which I picked up from Argos today. Credit to everyone who has posted here in the last couple of days...well done to everyone who got one...an for the people who didn't..s**t happens.
  • There is someone on HUKD who has apparently purchased from HP online at the full price, they took the money straight away only to email the customer cancelling within 10 mins and it will take a week for the money to go back onto card.

Obviously i dont know if this is true or not but approach with caution, I would rather wait !!

Is it worth the hassle then?

    Well done to you.
  • I ordered mine on the 23rd at staples and I have it in my order history. However I haven't received any communication from them and I think the money has been fenced by the bank (the bank balance is £89 less but the payment is not in my money out slot)

    Example:
    Current Cleared Balance £111
    Last Night's Balance £200
    Money Out ...empty...

Over the last 3 days the numbers on both balances have been the same.

    What's up with that?

When I spoke to them earlier in the week they said that my order had been cancelled and the money would be refunded to my card - I couldn't really understand why they took the money before they had sent it so maybe it's that. We've had no emails from them regarding the order - just wondering if a Touchpad will suddenly appear at the door!
