Hi all,
Managed to get one delivered from Argos today. I paid the full 400 for it but going to try and get the difference refunded. I've seen others have done this. Whats the best way to do it? instore or giving them a ring?
If they don't do it i will just get a full refund, but a lot of people have been sucessfull.

Anyone who has ordered their Touchpad from Play.com and has been refused any refund, with Play.com claiming that they are not being supported by their suppliers.
Look at the delivery label on your box - you will notice that it has come from Dixons!! not Play.com
If you contact DPD who delivery the parcels, ask them where they collected the item from, and they will tell you it was the local depot for DGS retail in Nottingham. ( DGS is Dixons, Currys, P C World) What do they have to do with play?
if you search the address on the label in google, its a distrubution centre owned by DSGI - (Dixons, Currys and PC World)
This is important information and is crutial to our enquiries if we want Play.com to offer refunds/rebates.
If they did not source their suppliers from PH directly - they would have sourced them from Dixons/Currys/PC World who have already confirmed they have offered the refunds.
So Play.com should easily be able to get the rebate from their suppliers, who get the rebate from HP - therefore being able to offer the customers the rebate too.
The progress can be followed on twitter - @playrefunduk0 -
Just a thought... I see on HP's store locator that they have an "HP Experience" store-in-store inside Harrods. It's the longest of long shots, but I guess that branch just might have some stock since it may not be connected to any online retailer.0

I too thought the same, but HP need to update their website, apparently Harrods got rid of it several months agoWins: Fillipo Berio Spray Oil0 -

That's good info, I'd suggest that anyone waiting on play to change their mind follow the twitter page suggested and also email the CEO john.perkins@play.com with a disgruntled message, hopefully if they get enough they'll start to realise the negative effect this may have on future sales. here's hoping!!!0 -
Further to my cancelled order on the HP staff store:HP_store wrote:Dear Customer
Thank you for your email enquiry concerning your order.
Unfortunately, this offer for the Touchpads was only available to HP employees with a valid HP email address.
As such, your order was unsuccessful.
I can confirm no payment has been taken from your card/PayPal account.
I apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards

I've sent back an email querying this stance.0 -
I am sharing this so you can draw you own conclusions as to their level of stocks and realiability.
Briefly...
I phoned Expansys sales line on Tuesday morning, they told me to go ahead and order at full price as they would reduce their price later that day and I'd get the reduced price.
I ordered at full price but in the order's special instructions summarised what had been discussed on the phone.
I was charged full price and received the touchpad on Wednesday evening.
I called Expansys Thursday 9:30 AM and they said I would have to send the touchpad back for a full refund and I would be put on their waiting list. They would be in touch to arrange delivery by the end of that day.
They did not get in touch and when I called at 5:30 their service line had closed early!
I spoke to them today and they have confirmed they will be in touch by email to arrange collection and refund. This has been confirmed by an email today, but I don't have details of how to arrange collection yet.
In passing I was told I was one of 3 people who had received touchpads from Expansys, presume this is just 32GB.
In fairness to Expansys I imagine they have been swamped with queries and confusion on the other hand I have been mislead signifiicantly and I don't understand why they can't just refund the sale price as was promised initially.0
