I've just realised something... HP were making a tablet that was 3G as well as WiFi and this was due out in September... I just wonder if with all of this cafuffle, hype, brand awarenes that's now out there and demand, if these tablets will be released (assuming they actually made them)... just an idea that passed through my mind. And also, expect to see some of the 64Gig versions popping up... where I don't know.

They've generated a hugh amount of demand so getting rid of them wouldn't be so much of a problem... But this is speculation.

More than likely, PcWorld had two sets of Touchpads to sell, they were the first to discount (and did it in the correct way, announcing it several hours beforehand on twitter) they did it on Monday and Tuesday in two batches. People who ordered on Tuesday have already received deliveries (some not all) and there is no indication that there will be cancelations. (with some rumours that PcWorld & CPW have scooped the jackpot and gotten more on route to them)

I almost given up hope of ever having one I spent past 3-4 days trying to get one now and wasted a lot of time. I dont mind some of the chase but on this occasion it didnt pay off. I had one on order on Amazon who still havent emailed me to say they cant full fill the order. I tried numerous times, cpw, dixons, argos, amazon, comet, currys

Guess it also depends where they make them. If it's in/near USA it would make more sense to just sell there. Think it's dried up at the moment but hope more show up in future. I'd love a 64gb one.

I don't know if HP & other retailers are telling the truth, not saying anything because of deals they are making or just none left at all. Communication has been poor through out

I ordered mine from PC World at about 9.30 am on the 23rd. I expected that it would get cancelled, but it arrived this afternoon.

That's a nice story... good you got one.

It's very interesting to hear how people need to have this device. I don't need to have it, though for a while I convinced myself I did need it... I would however like to have it. But I think my life will function fine without it...

What I do need is the Motorola Xoom but, I am not picky.

@Seequis (post 1701) Well spotted with the HP store. Amusingly the price show is £74 ex VAT, £349 incl. So that's George Osborne's secret plan to save the economy! *grin*

But it looks like hopes of cheap Pre 3s are over (for now at least) - CPW is showing them on contract from £30 p/m 24 months and full price sim free.

I know... same boat as you. Not great but eventually you'll land one... I am curious as to what will happen in a month or so... there will be lots of tablets and the run up to Christmas soon approaching...

Bear in mind, you should research XDA developers for tablets... you can get some that are not so great (cost peanuts) but by running android on them or modifying them you can end up with a fantastic piece of kit... Am keeping my eyes and ears open.

I hope in the meantime though you do get one. If I see anything I shall let you know as your story is similar to mine... and of course lots of other peoples
